- Abstract
- We propose a real-time stereoscopic image converter that can generate stereoscopic images with different perspective depth using motion parallax from a 2-D image. The stereoscopic image is generated by computing the motion parallax between two adjacent 2-D images using the proposed method for motion detection, region segmentation and depth map generation. We have compared the stereoscopic depth of the proposed method with that of the conventional method The proposed converter is designed and implemented by using a FPGA and verified by evaluating the field-sequential stereoscopic image on a TV. This converter can automatically produce a realistic 3-D effect regardless of the direction and velocity of a moving object in the 2-D image
