흡연이 미치는 영향에 대한 과학적 이해를 증진시키기 위한 과학 교육의 접근 방법

Abstract

우리나라 중고생 흡연율은 최근 증가 추세가 둔화되거나 감소하는 경향을 보이고 있지만 2006년 남자 고등학생 흡연율은 20.7%로 2005년에 15.7%에 비해 큰 폭으로 다시 증가하는 경향을 보이고 있다. 청소년 시기에 유해한 담배를 피우는 학생이 늘어난다는 사실은 매우 심각한 사회문제이다. 이에 학생들의 흡연 관련 지식과 흡연으로 인한 실내오염 및 건강에 미치는 영향에 관한 기초 설문을 실시한 결과 흡연관련 지식과 흡연으로 인한 실내오염 및 건강에 미치는 영향에 관한 기초지식은 단편적인 지식에 그치고 있었고 흡연에 대한 태도에 있어서도 흡연의 유해성을 정확히 인식하지 못함에 따라 흡연에 대한 뚜렷한 태도를 취하지 못하고 있는 것으로 조사 되었다. 흡연이 실내오염 및 건강에 미치는 영향에 대한 인식 조사에서 학생들의 인식 수준은 피상적인 수준에 머물러 있어 실질적인 피해에 대한 인식이 부족하였다. 이러한 청소년 흡연문제를 해결하기 위해 흡연이 미치는 영향에 대한 과학적 이해를 증진하기 위한 과학교육의 접근 방법으로 과학 교과서의 연계성을 고려하여 6학년부터 10학년 과학교과서에 흡연이 미치는 영향에 대한 내용으로 교과서에 연계시켜 보았다.; The rate of smoking teenagers in Korea tends to have slowed or decreased lately, but the rate of smoking mail students in high school dramatically increased from 15.7% in 2005 to 20.7% in 2006. It is a serious social problem that the number of students who smoke a harmful cigarette in their adolescence is increasing. To solve a smoking problem among teenagers, this research tries to present the approach of science education to promote scientific understanding about bad smoking effects. Thus, I surveyed on a knowledge of smoking among teenagers and the class pollution and influences on health by smoking. As a result, it showed that the students had only a basic smoking related knowledge and could not take an obvious attitude to smoking by misunderstanding its harm. And it also indicated they could not fully understand real damages because they did not have a required knowledge. Consequently, this research will recommend science textbooks of the sixth to tenth grade include these content to increase scientific understanding about the hazard of smoking.
