신생학문의 제도화 과정에 관한 연구

Abstract

이 연구는 20세기 중반 이후 대학이 전 세계적으로 확산되는 과정에서 대학의 구조적 특성이나 교육과정에 획기적인 변화가 일어나 거의 모든 나라에서 대학의 수와 대학생 인구가 급속히 증대되었으며 대학 교육내용의 체제와 성격에도 근본적인 변화를 가져온 것에 관심을 가지는 신제도주의 관점에 기초하였다. 이와 같은 대학의 구조적 성격 변화가 세계정치문화체제의 공통적인 이념적 틀 아래 범세계적인 차원에서 진행되는 현상이라면 대학의 학문적 분화 역시 동일한 초국가적 변화의 압력에 노출되어 있다고 상정해 볼 수 있을 것이다. 그러나 개별 국가 사회의 경계를 넘어서는 집합적 현실로서의 세계정치문화체제의 존재를 인정한다 하더라도 주도적인 교육제도의 모델이나 관련 이데올로기의 범세계적인 확산이 지역적 특수성과 상관없이 일방적으로 진행된다고 보기는 어렵다. 개별 국가의 정치, 경제, 사회문화적 특성들은 세계 차원의 정치문화체제와 상호작용하며 그 영향력을 조정하거나 매개함으로써 새로운 갈등과 변화의 동인을 제공하기도 한다. 이에 본 연구에서는 비교적 신생학문 분야에 속하는 관광학과 교육공학을 연구대상으로 선정하고, 그 방법으로 관광학과 교육공학의 선행연구물을 바탕으로 한 문헌연구와 관광학을 개설하고 있는 두 대학과 교육공학과를 개설하고 있는 두 대학의 요람을 관광학과 교육 공학의 개설초기부터 현재까지 5년 단위로 분석하였다. 이를 통하여 관광학과 교육공학의 학과분화에 대한 특징에 대하여 살펴보고 어떠한 개별 국가의 내ㆍ외적 요인들의 상호작용에 의하여 교과과정이 촉발되고 진행되는지의 여부와 세계정치문화체제가 각국의 교육체제 에 미치는 영향력의 내용 및 작용 과정이 관광학과 교육공학의 교과 과정과 교육목표 변화에 얼마나 영향을 미치는지에 대해서 알아 보고자 하였다. 연구 결과를 보면 관광학과 교육공학과의 교과과정 개정 시 학과가 개설된 초반에는 국내 교육환경의 영향을 받은 경향을 보이나 시간이 흐를수록 세계화 및 정보화를 의식하여 교과과정과 교육목표 변화의 방향이 국내의 교육환경보다 외부사회의 흐름을 더 의식하고 있다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 따라서 실제 관광학과 교육공학과의 교육목표나 교과과정이 시대가 흐를수록 국내사회보다는 세계사회와 정보화를 강조하는 비중이 급격히 증가하고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 이 결과 국내 관광학과 교육공학과와 같은 대학교육의 변화가 국내사회 및 개별 대학의 필요에 기인되었다기보다는 오히려 외부사회의 문화요소를 반영하는 방향으로 이루어짐을 알 수 있었다.; This study was originated with the theoretical background of neo institutionalism paid attention to the worldwide diffusion of academic institutions. The school of neoinstitutionalim had been concerned about rapidly increasing universities and students, what’s more, concernedabout contents of curricula standardized in all over the word. In this context, disciplinary differentiations also were presumed to put under the same pressure as curricula of universities were changed transnationally in all the world. It was hard to explain that transformation in the universities went ahead one sidedly regardless of local peculiarities although it was recognized the effect of world polity beyond the conditions of nation states. In order to testify this inference, tuorismology and educational technology belonged to new disciplines were selected as subjects for the present study, and then conducted documentary research on the basis of preceding materials studied on two disciplines, and hereafter analyzed handbooks of two universities gathered at 5 year intervals from the foundation year through the present year. This study was investigated whether characteristics of disciplinary differentiation and curricula between educational technology and tourismology went proceeded with interacting between internal factors and external factors in a nation state. Moreover, this was examined how much operating-process and contents of each educational systems infused from the world polity would have an influence on changing curriculua and educational objectives in the educational technology and tourismology In view of results so far investigated, educational technology and tourismology was put under the influence of local circumstance in the initially settling period, but as time passed, two disciplines were reflected on discourses about Globalization and Information society from the world society. Hence, the process of disciplinary differentiation, about which it was examined from the above mentioned disciplines, was more influenced by discourses on higher education from the world society than influenced by various factors of domestic circumstances and peculiarities of universities.
