로베르트 슈만의 『Liederkreis』 Op. 39 분석 연구

Abstract

본 논문의 연구 목적은 슈만의 『리더크라이스』 op. 39를 분석하고 특징을 파악하여 전체적인 작품의 구조에서 나타나는 음악적 특징들을 밝히고, 나아가 그 음악적 특징들에서 시적인 의미가 어떻게 표현되고 있는지를 밝히는데 그 목적이 있다. 슈만(Robert Schumann, 1810-1856)은 19세기 낭만주의 작곡가 중 독일 가곡을 발전시킨 작곡가이다. 특히, 슈만의 가곡은 시의 내적인 의미를 표현하는데 비중을 두었다. 이런 슈만의 가곡이 나올 수 있었던 것은 그 시대적 배경과 슈만의 문학적 재능이 결합된 결과물이었다. 본 논문은 먼저 슈만 가곡의 특징을 밝히고, 『리더크라이스』의 각 곡을 세부적으로 분석하여 그것을 바탕으로 전체적인 『리더크라이스』의 구조에서 나타난 순환곡적 특징들을 살펴보았다. 그 결과 『리더크라이스』가 단순한 가곡집이 아닌 순환곡적 작품이며, 『리더크라이스』의 12곡이 조성적인 계획 하에 작곡된 것임을 알 수 있다. 또 시와 음악의 결합에서 시의 표현을 위해 슈만은 여러 선율적인 기법과 시의 각운을 사용하여 시적인 의미를 강조해 주었다는 것이 규명된다. 또한 여기서 슈만은 제1곡과 제6곡, 8곡을 ‘타향’(Fremde)이라는 같은 주제를 사용하여 작곡하였는데, 이 곡들은 『리더크라이스』의 중심이 되어 ‘이중성’, ‘방황하는 자아’를 나타내 주고 있다. 결국『리더크라이스』는 순환적인 조성 구조를 통해 ‘방황하는 자아’를 나타내 주고 있다. 또 조성적인 구조를 통하여 각 곡들을 연결함으로서 『리더크라이스』가 단순한 가곡집이 아니라 하나의 연가곡적 작품이라는 것을 알 수 있다.; The purpose of this study is to demonstrate the musical characterristics and the overall structure found in Schumann's "Liederkreis op. 39" Furthermore, this paper tries to find how Schumann deals with poetic composers, R. Schumann(1810-1856) followed F. Schubert's (1797-1828) footsteps by devoting himself into his German lieder. His art songs are the great masterpieces combined his time period with literary talents. In this piece Schumann demonstrates (or transforms) his own (or new) interpretation of J. Eichendorff's poems by utilizing tonality, rhythm, melodic structure, piano accompaniment, according to rhyme scheme. Specifically, Schumann incorporates the first, sixth, and eighth songs with the same theme "Fremde" and those songs are the core of this cyclic. They also express 'dualism' and 'roaming ego' Through detailed analysis of these 12 songs, I find the cyclic nature in its structure. That is, these songs are not mere assemblage of the different songs, rather presents a narrative or a story as a whole.
