한국어 교재의 높임법 오류 분석을 통한 교재 개발 방안 연구

Abstract

본 연구의 목적은 외국인을 위한 한국어 교재의 높임법 오류를 사회언어학적 관점에서 분석하여, 향후 교재 개발에 고려해야 할 사회언어학적 방안을 제안하는 것이다. 한국어 문법체계의 하나인 높임법은 정확한 의미를 전달하기 위한 문법적 요소와 사회적 구속 안에서 상황에 맞는 표현을 선택해야 하는 사회적 요소를 지닌다. 이러한 문법성과 사회적 타당성에 관한 판단은 한국어를 외국어로서 배우는 학습자에게 있어서 난해한 학습 항목 중 하나라고 할 수 있다. 특히 음성언어로 이루어지는 대화에서 높임법을 구사할 경우, 학습자에게 주는 심리적 부담은 더 커진다. 왜냐하면 대화에서 높임법을 사용한다는 것은 한국어 모어화자 간에 허용되고 있는 적절한 높임법을 그 대화 상황에 맞게 즉각적으로 선택하는 능력이 요구되기 때문이다. 본 연구는 진정한 의사소통능력을 갖추기 위해서는 높임법이 사용되는 상황과 성별, 연령 등의 사회언어학적 측면에서의 이해가 필요하다는 점을 강조하며, 한국어 교재는 학습자들에게 가장 중요한 교육 자료이므로 교재에 높임법이 사회언어학적으로 잘 반영되어 있는지 분석해보는 것은 의미 있는 것이다. 본 논문의 내용을 정리해 보면 아래와 같다. 1장에서는 연구 목적과 방법, 대상에 관하여 설명할 것이다. 분석 대상으로 삼을 교재는 경희대, 고려대, 서울대, 연세대의 4개 언어교육기관의 교재이다. 또한 선행 연구들을 살펴보고, 문제제기를 통해 논의할 것이다. 2장에서는 이론적 배경으로 국어 높임법 체계와 한국어 높임법 체계를 비교해보고 한국어 높임법의 특성에 대해 논의할 것이다. 또한 높임법 교육에서 사회언어학적 접근이 필요하다는 것을 논의할 것이다. 3장에서는 한국어 교재의 높임법 오류를 분석하여 살펴볼 것이다. 화자 청자 관계의 정보 부재, 성별, 관계, 연령, 세대 등과 관련된 오류들이 있다. 4장에서는 분석해본 결과를 통해 사회언어학적 측면에서 높임법 교육이 이루어져야 함을 교재 개발 방안으로 제안할 것이며, 방안을 바탕으로 교재 개발의 실제를 제안할 것이다. 교재 개발 방안은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 높임법은 학습자의 실제 사용 장면을 고려해야 한다. 둘째, 높임법은 현대 한국 사회를 반영해야 한다. 셋째, 높임법은 관계(친밀감의 정도, 위치 등)를 명시해줘야 한다. 넷째, 높임법은 사회언어학적인 문맥 속에서 제시되어야 한다.; The purpose of this research is to analyze the errors of politeness contained in the Korean teaching materials for foreigners on social linguistic view and to suggest the social linguistic plans to consider in developing future teaching materials. Politeness, a part of Korean grammatical structure, has two kinds of aspect - aspect as a grammatical factor to communicate in precise meaning and as a social factor to choose expression which fit to certain situation in the way that obeys social constraint. The judgement of these factors is a hardship which almost all foreigners studying Korean must face. Especially in the conversation using oral language, they tend to feel more stressful talking in politeness words. Because, conversing in politeness takes speaker's ability to instantly choose the right politeness word for the situation between Korean speakers, right at the moment. This research emphasizes the need of understanding social linguistic aspects of situation, gender and age for obtaining actual conversation capability. Therefore, It will be meaning analyzing social linguistically reflected politeness in the Korean teaching materials - which is the most data for foreigners to study Korean. The contents of study can be summarized as follows: In chapter one, the goal, method and subject of the research will be given. The analyzing subjects of the study are materials - teaching materials of korean language institutes of teaching Korean. In chapter two, in the theoretical background, politeness systems in general language and Korean will be compared, and the characteristic of the one in Korean language will be discussed. The need of social linguistic approach in the politeness education will also be discussed. In chapter three, the error of politeness in the teaching materials will be analyzed. There are errors of the absence of relation between speaker and listener, of gender, age and generation. In chapter four, the suggestion of plan to improve teaching materials by educating politeness in social linguistic approach will be made. The actual plans are as follows: First, politeness system should be applied in the context of actual situation. Second, politeness system should reflect contemporary Korean society. Third, the detail of relationship must be given in using politeness. Fourth, politeness should be suggested in social linguistic context.
