논술교육 현황 및 문제점 개선 연구

Abstract

논술은 주어진 주제와 관련하여 자신의 독자적인 사고와 주장을 종합적 이고 체계적으로 설득력 있게 제시하는 능력과 관련되며, 이 점에서 지식을 창조적으로 재구성할 줄 아는 능력을 기르는데 있어서 중요한 교육적 방안이 될 수 있다. 논술은 글쓰기 과정이면서 동시에 사고과정으로서의 성격을 가지게 된다. 그러나 우리나라에서의 논술은 그 정체성이 아직 정확하지 않다. 지금까지의 대학입학시험과 관련된 논술의 형태는 암기식 위주의 논술작성을 벗어나지 못하고 있다는 지적이 많았다. 그러한 이유로 대학과 교육정책 당국도 이러한 기존의 논술출제 유형을 탈피하고 좀 더 포괄적이며 상호 연계된 사고와 창조적 인식과 논리의 전개를 목적으로 통합논술이라는 새로운 제도가 마련되고 있다. 그러나 통합 논술이라고 해도 그러한 통합 논술의 정확한 기본 개념도 없이 무작정 수험생들과 수험생과 직접적으로 연결된 가족, 학교 등의 혼란이 일어나고 있다. 각 대학교에서의 제시문 선정의 원리에 대한 ‘정보’가 구체적으로 제시되고 있지 않으며, ‘사교육에 의존 하고 있지 않고도 ’준비 할 수 있는 논술로 만들겠다는 학교의 취지와는 달리 작품 목록 수준도 대학교에서 수업을 하고 있는 학생들이 이해하기 힘든 수준의 작품을 제시하고 발표한 논술의 의도와는 전혀 다른 문제가 제시되고 있어서 학부모와 학생 사이에 혼란을 주고 있다. ‘통합’이라는 명칭은 대학마다 사용하는 명칭이 조금씩 다르고, 기존에 제시하는 논술의 목표와 크게 달라진바 없이 이름만 새롭게 첨부하여 더 큰 논술의 혼란을 초래 할 수 있음이 이유이다. 필자는 먼저 외국에서 논술제도가 어떻게 실시되고 있는지를 살펴보고 각 대학들이 2008학년도부터 적용하고자 하는 통합논술의 특징적인 요소와 통합논술의 문제점을 중심으로 우리나라의 논술이 지향해야 하는 방안에 대해서 논하고자 한다.; The essay, which is related to the given theme, is to give one's own thought and opinion synthetically and systematically, in this behalf it can be an important educational plan to have an ability to reorganize knowledge creatively. The essay is the process of writing as well as the process of thinking and gives you such character. But in Korea, we don't have any clear characteristic in an essay. We have criticism saying that we still don't get away from the essay format that is related to the college examination format of which is mostly essay preparation of memorizing work. For that reason, the college and the authorities of educational policy are trying to avoid from the preexistence essay type of the examination and by making the purpose as more inclusive with mutual connected thoughts, creative understanding and logical expansion, they are getting ready for the new policy named "combined essay". But even if it is a combined essay, without the accurate basic term of combined essay, it can cause confusion to the examiners and examiner directly related family, school, and etc. The 'information' on the selecting principle of the presentation writings in each colleges, is not specifically indicating for anything, and it is differing from the actual intention of which is to make an essay type that can be prepared even without being dependent from the private education. The work list level is indicated up to the level that can't be understood by students and since the questions are indicating completely different direction from the intention of the announced essay, they are causing confusion towards the students and parents. The term 'combination' is different from each colleges and without making any differences form the previous essay goal, they have just attached with the new name of which is bringing more confusion towards people. First, I will find out how the essay system is executing in foreign country and then, look for the characteristic factors of combined essay that colleges plan to apply from 2008 and will argue on the move out plan for the essay in Korea based on the problems of combined essay.
