오픈소스 기반 리눅스 데스크탑 개선에 관한 연구

Abstract

본 논문은 리눅스를 보급하고 리눅스 사용자를 확산함에 있어서, 특정 배포 판에서 개발된 응용프로그램이 다른 리눅스 배포판 에서도 수정없이 실행될 수 있도록 표준 리눅스 운영 환경 규격과 표준구매사양을 제안하여 리눅스 보급확산에 기여하고자 한다. 현재 국내시장에 출시된 배포판은 10여종이 넘는다. 리눅스의 특성상 배포판들은 운용체계(OS)의 핵심인 커널 수준에서는 표준화가 이루어져 있다. 하지만 각 벤더마다 그래픽 유저 인터페이스, 설치방식, 디렉터리의 위치, 라이브러리의 위치 등 배포판간 일관성이 부족하다. 이 때문에 특정벤더의 배포판을 설치하고 사용하는 데 익숙해진 사용자가 또 다른 배포판을 사용하는데 있어 그 활용법을 다시 익혀야 하는 불편함이 발생하기도 한다. 이런 사소한 불편 이외에 배포판간 호환성 문제도 남아 있다. 다양한 배포판이 존재하는 만큼 선택의 폭이 넓고 리눅스의 발전에 있어 이점이 있지만 사용자들은 불편과 혼란을 겪을 수 있는 것이다. 또한 리눅스 배포판 벤더들이 FHS(Filesystem Hierarchy Standard), LSB(Linux Standard Base)를 적극적으로 지원함으로써 패키지 관리 방식이나 커널, 라이브러리 등 Operating System에 있어 핵심적인 사항들의 표준을 준수 하기 시작한 것은 리눅스의 대중화에 있어 많은 기여를 할 것으로 예상해 볼 수 있다. 국내의 경우에는 대부분의 배포판이 한글로 패키징 하는 차원을 벗어나지 못하는 수준이므로 표준화를 진행하는 데 있어 많은 문제점이 발생되지 않으리라 생각된다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 모델은 우분투(Ubuntu)는 데스크탑에서 쉬운 리눅스를 사용할수 있도록 만들어진 리눅스 배포판을 모델로 연구를 하였다. 리눅스는 전세계 운영체제 시장의 큰 부분을 차지하고 있으며 앞으로 더욱 그 영향력을 확대해 나갈 것이다.; Interests and aggressive support in the use of open source software has led to a great expansion of linux desktop based on the company operations. We must take a closer look at inefficient operations of linux desktop compared with windows. This report will suggest features of linux desktop programs based on standard computer operations.Linux desktop will provide adequate system for company operations and improve in applications for general home users to possess similar conditions with the current windows. This report has been written to contribute into the expansion of linux users by suggesting the compatiblity of generally developed applications in linux program without any further fix.There are over 10 categories distributed in the local market. The distributed categories have standardardized the kernel of OS as a characteristic of linux, but difference by vendors in graphic interface, installation method, location of directories & libraries and etc are considered as problems. This is the reason why users must adapt to different systems even when they wereused to one of the previous systems. There are problems in compatibility as well. Diversified systems provide with field of choices and developments in linux, but this may also bring confusion to users. In addition, aggressive support of standardization in packinging, management, kernel, libraryand other operations of FHS (Filesystem Hierarchy Standard), LSB (Linux Standard Base) by vendors will highly contribute in the expansion of linux. In the case of local research groups, there will be difficults in progress of standardization as they are already going through hard time even in packaging in Korean. The model suggested in this report is callaed Ubuntu and is based on the linux model with easy use on desktops. Linux operation currently holds large portion of the OS market, and will continue to expand its effects in market. Linux is converting from the main use in engineering system managements to internet and transaction task managements. Linux desktop will continue to become even more friendly to users with improvements in the operations. Current desktop demands active market system rather than the development in technology. Linux will continue to make up for the insufficient features compared to windows and provide friendly support to users. The linux desktop in this report will provide with adequate application settings for commercial use and developed programs and system settings similar with windows settings for home users.
