춤박물관의 기능과 역할수행에 관한 연구

Abstract

인류의 문화유산인 무용은 시·공간적 예술이라 불려지고, 기본적으로 일회성의 속성을 가지며, 또한 기록의 부재성이라는 한계를 가질 수밖에 없는 연속적인 시간예술로 공연과 동시에 사라진다. 이러한 이유로 해서 춤의 기록은 그 어떤 예술보다 중요하며, 춤 기록의 산물인 춤 자료는 존재하는 것 모두가 그만한 가치를 지닌다. 그런 의미에서 춤박물관은 인간의 창작활동의 결과로서의 춤을 우리가 이해하고 연구해야하는 필요성을 상기시킨다는 점에서 고무적이다. 이렇게 볼 때 춤박물관은 존재했던 현상에 대한 다양한 흔적들을 체계적으로 보존하여 과거사에 대한 추적 및 해석의 밑거름을 제공하는 역할을 수행할 것이다. 따라서 춤이라는 예술에 존재하는 일회성과 기록의 부재를 감안하면, 춤과 관련된 자료의 발굴, 수집, 정리, 보존, 활용의 필요성은 더욱 강조 되어야만 할 것이며, 춤박물관의 기능과 역할수행에 관한 연구는 우리 무용의 현재와 미래를 위해 반드시 필요한 작업이다. 본 연구는 춤박물관의 기능과 역할수행의 활성화 방안, 그리고 체계적 운영방안을 탐구하여 춤박물관을 더욱 발전, 개발시킬 수 있는 이론적 토대를 제시하여 무용예술의 지평을 확대시키는 데 목적을 둔다. 이러한 연구의 목적을 달성하기위해 박물관의 개념 및 정의와 춤박물관의 국내·외 현황을 여러 가지 참고 문헌과 인터넷 자료를 통해 연구하였으며, 문헌연구와 전문기관에 종사하는 학예사의 자문을 구하였다. 본 연구의 결론을 요약·정리하면 다음과 같다. 춤박물관은 유물을 수집하고 보존하는 기능을 통해 우리의 춤을 언제든지 재해석하고 재평가 할 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 춤의 역사와 문화적 우수성을 연구하고, 이를 일반에게 전달하고 교육하는 계몽의 역할까지도 담당한다. 본 연구자는 이러한 춤박물관의 역할수행의 활성화 방안을 다음과 같이 제시하였다. 첫째, 정보화 사회를 맞이한 현 시점에서 춤의 무형자산을 체계적으로 발굴, 수집, 보존하는 관리시스템으로 무용예술전용 데이터베이스시스템과 네트워크화 구축은 자료 수장력의 한계를 극복하며, 무용예술자료의 정보를 체계적으로 구분·정리하고 보존·보급하는 기대 효과를 거둘 수 있는 하나의 방안이다. 둘째, 춤박물관이 전문박물관으로서 그 역할과 기능을 충실히 수행하기 위해서는 춤박물관에 걸 맞는 전문성을 갖춘 춤학예연구사의 체계적인 양성이 급선무라 하겠다. 그러나 현재 춤박물관에 필요한 전문적 교육을 체계적으로 받은 전문 인력이 절대적으로 부족한 실정이다. 이와 같은 이유 때문에 학예사 양성을 위한 국가적 제도 개편과 박물관 학예사들에 대한 인턴쉽과정을 적극적으로 활성화하고 실질적인 훈련이 되도록 다양한 프로그램 개발이 시급히 요청된다. 또한 춤박물관이란 점을 감안할 때 이들의 업무의 효율성과 전문성을 증진시킬 수 있는 보수개념으로 무용예술에 관심이 있는 무용 전공자들을 대상으로 재교육시켜 전문성을 키워 나감으로써 춤박물관의 활성화를 기대할 수 있다. 셋째, 춤박물관이 체계적으로 운영되기 위해서는 먼저 국가적 차원에서 각종 제도나 지원체계가 마련되어야함과 동시에 공공기록물관리법과 연계하여 춤박물관의 설립을 법제화하고 관리전문가들을 양성할 수 있는 교육제도를 마련해야한다. 이러한 이유는 춤박물관의 문화재나 예술품들로 획득되어지는 성과가 국가적 차원에서도 매우 중요한 정보나 자료이며, 곧 나라의 재산이기 때문이다. 또 다른 방안으로 민간부문에서 춤박물관을 설립하여 설립에 대한 재원과 운영비의 일부는 정부에서 지원을 받고 춤박물관의 자료를 문화사업분야에 제공함으로써 영리사업을 통해 일부 재원을 조달하여 운영하는 방안이 있다. 이는 정부지원의 한계를 극복할 수 있는 현실적 방안이 된다. 마지막으로 기업의 문화마케팅, 즉 ‘메세나‘를 통하여 기업들의 문화후원 활동을 받음으로써 기업과 문화·예술 단체 모두가 발전할 수 있는 기회를 제공받을 수 있다. 뿐만 아니라 이런 방법을 통해 춤박물관의 특성화를 부각시킨다면 춤을 사랑하고 향유하는 이들에게 보다 차별적인 이미지를 심어줄 수 있을 것이다.; The dance which is a cultural heritage of the human being the time-space art comes to soak, it has a one-time sincerity attribute basically, also public performance and it disappears simultaneously with art of the timely continuity which is not only the possibility of having the limit which is an absent characteristic of record.
