Abstract

Youth Voluntary Activities implies many objectives. In Korea, various organizations not only in the level of central government but also in local levels such as local governments, organizations of citizens for social welfare, schools and universities. For the efficient cooperation among organizations supporting youth voluntary activities, it is a crucial point to keep the systematic linkage among these organizations. In this respects, this study aims at suggesting some policy alternatives for promoting cooperation among organizations supporting youth voluntary activities. In order to attaining this goal, this study reviews the relevant literature to youth voluntary activities and examines the programs for promoting and supporting youth voluntary activities. not only in the level of central government local governments, organizations of citizens for social welfare, schools and universities. As results of this study, policy alternatives for promoting and supporting youth voluntary activities are suggested as follow: First, it is necessary to have more close relationships among organizations in the level of central government using the same criteria and data bae for policy alternatives for promoting and supporting youth voluntary activities. Second, it is also necessary to develope various and effective program for promoting and supporting youth voluntary activities which enables the youth participate more often and develop their abilities. Third, In order to have more close relationships among organizations not only in the level of central government but also in local levels such as local governments, organizations of citizens for social welfare, schools and universities National Youth Committe should have a systematic role and could give much more financial incentives for their participations. In addition, the changes of recognition and behavior for and in the area of voluntary activities is necessary for the promotion of youth voluntary activities. For thies changes advertisements and public relations are very important.
