IPTV를 위한 순위기반의 캐싱 방식과 P2P를 활용한 그리드 컨텐츠 전송기법

Abstract

IPTV는 xDSL(X Digital Subscriber Line)과 FTTx(Fiber to the x) 등의 초고속 인터넷 망과 인터넷 프로토콜을 이용하여 인터넷 방송처럼 스트리밍 콘텐츠를 제공하는 서비스를 말한다. 이를 이용하는 사용자는 인터넷이 가능한 곳이면 공간과 시간의 제약 없이 자신이 원하는 시간과 장소에서 콘텐츠 이용이 가능하며, IP 미디어의 다양화로 인하여 사용자는 일반적인 멀티미디어 서비스 외에도 화상전화, 메신저, TV포털, 게임, 쇼핑 등의 다양한 서비스를 제공 받을 수 있다. 날로 다양해져 가고 있는 멀티미디어 콘텐츠와 서비스 이용고객의 증가로 인하여 기업들은 콘텐츠전송 비용절감에 대한 관심이 고조되는 상황이며, 이러한 문제를 해결할 수 있는 전송방식에 관한 연구의 필요성이 대두 되게 되었다. 이러한 전송방식에 대한 연구는 이용자들에게 안정적인 QoS(Quality of Service)를 보장하면서, 저비용(低費用)의 전송모델을 설계 하는 것이 그 관건이다. 이를 위하여 VOD(Video On Demand) 분야에서 연구된 스트리밍 캐싱과, 파일전송 분야에서 연구된 P2P(Peer-to-Peer)를 관한 연구를 참조하여 보다 효율적인 IPTV 기반의 멀티미디어 콘텐트 전송방법을 제시 하고자 한다.; IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) service refers to a service which offers streaming contents like air wave TV broadcasting or a cable TV broadcasting by using high speed internet network and internet protocol such as xDSL (X Digital Subscriber Line) and FTTx (Fiber to the x). IPTV users can use contents at any time and any place without limit of space and time as long as the Internet is available. With various IPs, users can enjoy various services such as video phone, messenger, TV portals, games and shopping as well as multimedia service. Companies have a growing interest in reduction of distribution costs due to IPTV content transmission. A study on the solution of the problem is being conducted, whose aim is to design a low-cost transmission model while ensuring QoS (Quality of Service) to clients. Thus, this study will suggest a more efficient IPTV content transmission method with reference to streaming caching in VOD (Video on Demand) and P2P (Peer-to-Peer) file transmission standards.
