예술고등학교 무용과 학생들의 NIE에 대한 인식연구

Abstract

First, 71. students out of 217 ones answered that the goal of dance education at art high school was 'bringing up of the artists through the whole personality education', and 160 students responded that the primary contents of the dance curriculum were about 'dance practice'. Such findings suggest that our art high schools are focused on practice rather than theories. Second, 71 students out of 217 ones answered that the primary problem of art high school dance education is 'retardation of creativity or thinking power due to knowledge cramming education', followed by 'education only for colleges' (n=62). Such a finding suggests that the current art high school education aims at cramming of knowledge and college entrance rather than students' voluntary and active participation in education. Third, 155 students (71.4%) out of 217 students answered that they had never heard about NIE, and 164 students (75.6%) responded that they had never experienced NIE. However, 120 students (55.3%) affirmed the need for NIE, and 114 ones (52.5%) affirmed the effects of NIE. Namely, the majority of students affirmed the positive effects of NIE. Fourth, the effect expected most of NIE was 'knowledge gaining' (n=83), followed by 'thinking power', 'creativity', 'vocabulary' and `presentation in their order. And 112 students (51.6%) felt that 'classroom about theories' would be the most adequate candidate for NIE. Based on the above findings, the following suggestions were put forwards to develop and improve the dance education at art high schools; it is deemed necessary to depart from the conventional knowledge cramming education towards development of a new pedagogics and creative education, so that students can have diverse experiences and access to knowledge, while learning for themselves. Namely, it is judged to educate students in a future-oriented way. Although NIE has still to be applied to art high school dance education, being poorly perceived by students, the majority of students and teachers felt it necessary to have NIE applied to their dance education and expected that its effects would be considerable. So, it is conceived that NIE would be positively and effectively applied to art high school dance education.; 본 연구는 예술고등학교 무용과 학생들의 NIE(Newspaper in education)에 대한 인식을 알아보고 시대흐름에 따른 보다 발전적이고 창의적인 무용교육을 위한 방법으로 NIE에 대한 필요성을 제시하는데 그 목적을 두고 있다. 이를 위해 신문활용교육의 의미와 효과에 대해서 이론적으로 고찰해 보고, 신문활용교육이 예술고등학교 무용과 학생들에게 어떠한 효과를 줄 수 있는지에 대해 살펴보고자 한다. 그리고 예술고등학교 무용교육의 현황과 신문활용교육에 대한 교사들의 인식, 문제점과 개선점 등을 파악해 봄으로써 NIE에 관한 본 연구와 활용에 도움이 되고자 한다. 연구방법으로는 NIE에 대한 이론적인 근거를 위해 단행본, 논문, 학술지, 인터넷 등을 참고하였다. 그리고 예술고등학교 무용과 학생들의 NIE에 대한 인식을 조사하기 위해 타 예술분야의 NIE관련 선행연구를 바탕으로 설문지를 제작하였으며, 연구대상 학교(선화, 서울, 브니엘 예술고등학교)의 학생 240명과 교사 19명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 또한 배부된 설문지 중 불성실하게 응답한 설문지를 제외하고 학생 217부와 교사 19부의 설문지가 최종 분석에 사용되었다. 수집된 자료는 통계 응용프로그램인 Microsoft Excel 97워크시트를 사용하였고 주관식 응답은 개선방향에 대한 종합 분석에 사용되었다. 이러한 과정을 통해 밝혀진 연구결과를 종합적으로 정리하여 제시하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 예술고등학교 무용교육의 목표에 대해 전체 응답자 217명중 94명이 ‘전인교육을 통한 예술인의 육성’으로 가장 높게 응답하였으며, 무용관련 수업의 주된 내용은 ‘전공실기 수업’이라고 학생 총 217명중 160명이 응답하였다. 따라서 이론수업보다는 실기수업에 좀 더 치중하고 있음을 알 수 있다. 둘째, 예술고등학교 무용교육의 문제점으로 3개 학교 학생 총 217명중 71명이 ‘주입식 교육으로 인한 창의력, 사고력 저하’라고 응답하였으며 이어 ‘지나친 입시위주의 교육에’에 62명이 응답하였다. 따라서 학생들의 자발적이고 능동적인 수업보다는 주입식 교육과 입시를 목적으로 하는 교육의 비중이 높음을 알 수 있다. 셋째, 신문활용교육에 대해 학생 총 217명중 155명 71.4%가 ‘들어본 적이 없다’고 응답했으며, 신문활용경험에 대해서는 ‘경험이 없다’가 164명 75.6%로 나타났다. 하지만 신문활용교육의 필요성과 효과성에 대해서는 ‘필요하다’가 120명 55.3%, ‘효과가 있을 것이다’의 질문에 114명 52.5%로 과반수이상의 학생이 신문활용교육에 대해 긍정적임을 알 수 있다. 넷째, 신문활용수업으로 예상할 수 있는 효과분야는 ‘지식적인 측면’ 83명으로 가장 높게 나타났으며, 이어 ‘사고력’ ‘창의력’ ‘어휘력’ ‘발표력’ 순으로 나타났다. 그리고 신문활용수업에 대한 적용과목으로는 ‘이론수업’ 112명 51.6%로 가장 크게 나타났다. 본 연구 결과를 토대로, 예술고등학교 무용교육의 발전과 개선방향을 위해서 기존의 주입식 교육과 관념에서 벗어나 새로운 수업방식의 개발과 창의적인 교육내용으로 학생들이 다양한 경험과 지식을 쌓고, 배우며 학습할 수 있도록 미래지향적인 연구를 추진하고 노력해야 할 것이라 판단되며, 아직 NIE가 예술고등학교 무용교육에 적용되고 있는 사례가 미비하고 NIE에 대한 학생들의 인식 또한 부족하지만 연구결과에서 알 수 있듯이 과반수이상의 학생과 교사가 NIE가 필요하다고 응답하였으며 그 효과 또한 클 것이라 예상 응답하였기 때문에 예술고등학교 무용교육에 있어 NIE는 효과적이고 긍정적인 의미로 적용될 수 있을 것이라고 사료된다.; The purpose of this study was to survey art hight school dance major students' perception of "NIE" (Newspaper in Education) and thereupon, suggest that "NIP would be required to promote a more progressive and creative dance education in the new age. For this purpose, the researcher reviewed theories about implications and effects of NIE and analyzed its effects on art high school dance major students. In addition, the researcher examined the conditions of art high school dance education and teachers' perception of NIE and addressed the problems and suggested their solutions. To this end, the researcher reviewed books, dissertations, journals and Internet data about theories of NIE, and thereupon, examined the preceding studies to design a questionnaire to survey art high school dance major students' perception of NIE. For the survey, the researcher sampled 240 art high school (Sunhwa, Seoul and Peniel) dance major students and 19 teachers. Finally, 217 responses from students excluding the 23 unserious ones and all 19 responses from teachers were used for analysis. The data collected were processed using the Microsoft Excel 97 Worksheet, while the open-ended responses were analyzed comprehensively to find the solutions.
