식스시그마를 위한 통계 소프트웨어 비교분석

Abstract

최근 국내 PCB 기업의 시장 환경이 급격하게 많은 변화를 보임에 따라 이에 대한 적절한 대응책이 필요하다. 이러한 환경의 변화는 품질 부문에서 두드러지게 나타난다. 갈수록 격심해지는 무한경쟁의 소용돌이 속에서 기업이 세계시장에서 절대적인 경쟁력을 확보하여 기업의 가시적 경영성과 창출, 임직원 주주들의 성장의 수혜 그리고 국민경제의 활력이 필요한 이 시점에서 식스시그마 경영활동이 이러한 목적과 비전 달성을 가능하게 해 주는 가장 효과적인 수단이다. 특히 식스시그마는 통계적 분석 과정 중 데이터를 그림으로 만들어 한눈에 데이터 비교하는 그래프기능, 정확하고 신뢰성 있게 분석하는 분석기능으로 통계공정관리 소프트웨어는 가장 중요한 분석수단이다. 또한 1999년 말부터 본격적으로 실시한 식스시그마 품질혁신활동은 우리나라 품질을 한 단계 성장시켰다. 식스시그마 운동이 성공할 수 있었던 원동력은 통계의 대중화이며 이는 MINITAB이 있었기 때문에 가능했다. 따라서 본 연구는 가장 보편화된 MINITAB을 중심으로 통계적 분석 소프트웨어에 대한 분석을 실시하고 기업들이 쉽고 편리하게 추진할 수 있는 소프트웨어를 위한 방향을 제언한다. 첫째, PCB 산업에서 식스시그마 추진 조직에 대해 조사하여 이에 따른 MINITAB 소프트웨어 사용 활용도를 확인하여 현재 사용되고 있는 통계 소프트웨어 실용성에 대해 검증한다. 둘째, 국내 PCB산업에서 식스시그마를 추진하고 있는 통계적 분석 소프트웨어에서 사용되고 있는 툴에 대해 분석하여 통계적 분석 소프트웨어 툴의 인지도, 빈도를 확인한다. 셋째, 국내 PCB산업에서 식스시그마를 위해 사용하는 MINITAB과 새로이 출시된 eZ SPC 2.0 소프트웨어를 비교분석하여 결과를 토대로 가장 적합한 소프트웨어가 갖춰야 할 사항들을 제시한다.; Six Sigma is the widely proved management innovation methods in PCB industry. In order to implement Six Sigma effectively, many improvement projects are required. As we do these projects, the statistics software is an important tool. The most preferred software in the Six Sigma is Minitab. Minitab provides lots of tools and techniques for data analysis but it has too many tools for general users. Many users also have difficulties to understand the results and tools. In this paper, we present the comparative analysis between Minitab and eZ SPC softwares. eZ SPC software is recently developed to meet the users' demands for easy use. We did the survey study on learning technology, efficiency, understanding, and convenience of making reports. We found that 93% of responding people use Minitab for their companies' Six Sigma and 85% of them say that Minitab is difficult and uncomfortable. On the contrary, eZ SPC users described that it is relatively easier to learn techniques and understand the results. Therefore we recommend people in the Six Sigma activities to use eZ SPC for better performance.
