아버지 양육태도가 육군병사의 군생활적응과 심리적 안녕감에 미치는 영향

Abstract

본 연구는 군에 의무복무하는 병사들의 군생활적응을 돕고 지휘자들에게 병원(兵員)관리에 관한 효과적인 정보를 제공하기 위한 목적으로 출발하였다. 이에 본 연구에서는 병사가 성장기에 지각한 아버지의 양육태도를 군생활적응의 중요한 변인으로 보고 아버지의 양육태도가 군생활적응에 미치는 영향에 관해 중점적으로 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 먼저 아버지의 양육태도가 병사의 자기통제력과 심리적 안녕감에 미치는 영향을 살펴보고 자기통제력과 심리적 안녕감이 군생활적응과는 어떠한 상관관계에 있는지 확인하고자 하였다. 본 연구에서 설정한 연구문제는 다음과 같다. 연구문제 1. 성장기에 지각한 아버지 양육태도는 자기통제력 발 달에 어떤 영향을 미치는가? 연구문제 2. 아버지 양육태도는 군생활적응에 어떤 영향을 미치 는가? 연구문제 3. 아버지의 양육태도는 심리적 안녕감에 어떤 영향을 미치는가? 연구문제 4. 자기통제력과 심리적 안녕감은 군생활적응에 어떠한영향을 미치는가? 본 연구를 위해 육군의 전후방 지역의 10개 부대에 의무복무중인 병사 772명을 대상으로, 성장기에 지각한 아버지의 양육태도, 자기통제력, 심리적 안녕감, 군생활적응정도에 관해 설문조사를 실시하였으며 그 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 아버지의 양육태도가 애정적일수록 자기통제력이 높게 발달하고,과잉보호 및 거부적일 경우 자기통제력 발달이 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 아버지 양육태도가 애정적일수록 군생활적응도가 높고, 거부적일 경우 군생활적응이 낮아짐을 확인하였다. 셋째, 아버지의 애정적 양육태도는 긍정정서를 발달시키고 삶의 만족도를 높게하는 반면, 과잉보호와 거부적 태도는 부정정서를 형성시키고 삶의 만족도를 낮게 함이 나타났다. 넷째. 아버지의 애정적인 양육태도는 자기통제력을 높게하고, 높은 자기통제력은 긍정정서와 삶의 만족도를 높게하며 또한 병사의 군생활적응도 높게함을 확인할 수 있었다. 따라서 본 연구는 성장기에 지각한 아버지의 양육태도가 병사의 군생활적응에 중요한 영향을 미친다는 것을 밝힘으로써 갓 군입대한 신병의 향후 군생활적응 정도를 예측할 수 있다는 점에서 의의를 찾아볼 수 있다.; This study began with the purpose of helping soldiers performing their mandatory service adjust to military life and providing commanders with effective information pertinent to the management of their military personnel. For this, the study identified a soldier's perception of his father's rearing attitude while growing up as a crucial factor in adjusting to militarylife and focused on understanding the effect of a father's child-rearing attitude on adjustment to military life. To this end, we first focused on the effects of a father's rearing attitude on a soldier's self-control and psychological well-being, and tried to determine the relationship between self-control, psychological well-being and adjustment to military life. Study Question 1. How does a father's rearing attitude influence the development of self-control? Study Question 2. How does a father's rearing attitude influence adjustment to military life? Study Question 3. How does a father's rearing attitude influence psychological well-being? Study Question 4. How does self-control and psychological well-being influence adjustment to military life? For this study, 772 enlisted soldiers performing their mandatory service in 10 units in forward and rear areas were surveyed on their perception of their fathers' rearing attitude while growing up, self-control, psychological well-being, and adjustment to military life. The summary of the results are as follows. First, the more affectionate a father's attitude is in rearing a child, the greater that child's self-control will be; if the father was overprotective or negative, development of self-control was low. Second, a more affectionate attitude correlated positively to better adjustment to military life; a negative attitude was associated with a lower level of adjustment. Third, an affectionate attitude from the father develops positive emotions within a child growing up and increases hissatisfaction with life; conversely, an overprotective or a negative attitude created negative emotions and decreased a child's satisfaction with life. Fourth, an affectionate rearing attitude raised a child's self-control. Higher selfcontrol led to positive emotions and a high satisfaction with life, which in turn led to better adjustment to military life. Thus, by showing that a father's rearing attitude exerts significant influence to an enlisted soldier's adjustment to military life, this study is meaningful in that it can serve to predict how well a newly enlisted soldier will adjust to military life.
