J.S.Bach-F.Busoni의 Chaconne in d minor BWV.1004에 관한 연구

Abstract

부조니(Ferruccio Benvenuto Busoni, 1866-1924)는 이태리 태생으로 독일에서 활동한 신고전주의(Neo-Classicism)의 대표적인 피아니스트이자 작곡가, 편곡가이다. 그는 성악곡, 오페라, 관현악곡, 기악곡 등 다양한 장르의 많은 작품을 남겼다. 또한 그는 과거 많은 대작곡가들의 작품을 창의적인 시도로 편곡하여 피아노 편곡 역사에 있어 큰 업적을 남긴 인물이다. 그는 특히 바흐(Johann Sebastian Bach, 1685-1750)의 작품들을 편곡함으로써 그 기량을 널리 인정받고 있다. 본 논문에서 분석한 곡은 바흐의 <무반주 바이올린 Partita No.2 in d minor BWV.1004> 중 5악장인 샤콘느(Chaconne)를 부조니가 피아노용으로 편곡한 것이다. 작곡가로서 편곡에 대한 그의 큰 업적은 바흐 원곡의 선율악기인 바이올린 독주가 감당해야 했던 대위법적 폴리포니(polyphony)의 양식적, 기술적 한계성을 피아노로 대체하여 성부의 구분을 명확하게 해 주었다는데 있다. 또한 편곡을 함에 있어 원곡에도 충실할 뿐만 아니라 원곡을 더욱 더 확장하여 다른 대선율을 첨가하기도 하였으며 새로운 음향세계를 보여 주고 있다. 이러한 시도를 위해 곡의 형식(form)과 조성(tonality), 화성(harmony), 리듬(rhythm), 음역의 확대와 축소, 빠르기(tempo), 세밀한 악상 표현, 연주를 위한 손가락번호(fingering), 페달(pedal), 아티큘레이션(articulation), 지속음(pedal point) 등을 사용하여 피아노의 특성을 잘 살려 피아노라는 악기가 지닌 다양한 음악적 표현을 가능하게 하였다. 부조니의 편곡을 통하여 악기의 기술적 한계성을 극복하려는 의도를 알고자 먼저 바흐의 샤콘느를 살펴보고, 부조니가 편곡한 샤콘느를 연구 분석하였다. 또한 피아니스트들에게 요구하는 작곡가의 연주 의도를 올바르게 인지하고, 표현, 연주하는데 도움이 되고자 그 연주기법에 대하여 연구하였다.; Ferruccio Benvenuto Busoni(1866~1924), born in Italy, is one of the most prominent pianists, composers and arrangers as well as of the greatest neo-classic musicians in Germany. He was brilliant enough to produce numerous works and at the same time various genres such as vocal pieces, operas, and, instrumental and orchestral pieces. There is no doubt Busoni is a great figure in the history of piano arrangement, who worked some masterpieces of great virtuosos in the past to reclothe them with arrangement in a creative way. Having arranged, especially, the pieces of Johann Sebastian Bach, he was competency of arrangement has highly been recognized as the competent arranger. The piece analyzed in this study is the Chaconne arranged for piano by Busoni in 5th movement of Partita No.2 in D minor, BWV1004 originated by J. S. Bach. His significant work for this is in two aspects. First, some limitations of techniques and textures from contrapuntal polyphony in which violin solo takes the part as melodic instrument in the origin are alternated into the piano which makes each part of its voices distinct. Second, not only faithfulness to the origin, but also enlargement by adding another counter-part into it presents new sound world. Using the characteristics of the piano, fingering, pedaling, articulation and pedal point, he puts various expressions into the Chaconne with the piano instrument. In oder to know the intension to overcome some limitation of instrument in terms of techniques through the arrangement by Busoni, this study the Chaconne by Bach and arranged Chaconne by Busoni. Besides, it also studied the techniques in order to be helpful for performance, understand the intention of the composer and express properly which is required to any performers.
