Abstract

모리스 두루플레(Maurice Durufle, 1902-1986)는 20세기 프랑스 오르간 음악을 대표하는 오르간 작곡가 중 한사람이며, 파리에있는 쌩 떼띠엔-뒤-몽(St. Etienne-du-Mont) 교회 오르가니스트로 봉사했었다. 본 논문에서는 20세기 프랑스의 음악세계와 오르간 음악에 대해 알아 보고 그의 음악적 시대적 배경, 생애, 오르간 작품 및 음악적 특징을 살펴 본 후 Sutie op. 5의 작품을 분석하였다. 논문의 중심이 되는 Suite op. 5는 1933년에 작곡된 곡으로 그의 작곡 스승인 뒤카(Paul Dukas, 1865-1935)에게 헌정된 곡이다. 이 곡은 Prelude와 Sicilienne, Toccata의 3악장으로 구성되어 있으며, 20세기 현대 음악적 양식을 사용하여 그가 프랑스 오르간 현대 음악에 있어 주요한 역할을 한 것을 알아 볼 수 있었다. 두루플레의 오르간 음악은 17-19세기에 사용하던 전통적이 작곡기법 위에 20세기 초 프랑승의 인상파적인 작곡기법을 흡수하여 자신의 음악 세계를 펼친 것이 특징이라 할 수 있다.; M. Durufle(1902-1986) is one of the major 20th century French organ music composers, who served St. Etienne-du-Mont church in Paris as organist. This paper has studied 20th century French music and its organ music, reviewed his organ compositions and their characteristics along with his musical background and career, and finally analyzed his Suite op.5. Suite op.5, which is a major interest of this paper, was composed in 1933 and presented to his teacher Paul Dukas(1865-1935) Consisting of 3 movements with Prelude, Sicilienne, and Toccata, Suite op.5 shows that he played an important role in French contemporary organ music adopting 20th century contemporary musical styles. Based on the traditional composing techniques used in 17th-19th century, Durufle's organ music created his own musical characteristics by assimilating early 20th century's French impressionist composing techniques.
