영상분석에 기반한 이매방 살풀이춤 춤사위의 연구

Abstract

This study performed a qualitative analysis on Leemaebang Salpuri dance, focusing on its inherent aesthetic characteristics and formal aspects, Mujinbeop and Dongjakmaek. In addition, it also performed a quantitative analysis to verify again Leemaebang Salpuri dance, increasing the objectivity of the study and setting a new horizon in research on Salpuri dance. As for the qualitative analysis, Mujinbeop set eight directions for the spacial movement of Salpuri dance movements on the basis of the arrangement of representative Salpuri dance movements, diagrammed the distribution of the features of the body's direction in space, and analyzed the symbolic meanings of the diagram. Besides, the distribution of movements within stillness was diagrammed to analyze the expressed forms of Salpuri dance movements. As for the quantitative analysis, Kim, Myeong-ja's dance movements, which were considered most objective among dance movements performed by two instructors and an assistant instructor (Kim, Myeong-ja) of Salpuri dance, were set as the representative dance movements. Mujinbeop was analyzed through data materials displayed in the ratio of the width to length among the values of features. Dongjakmaek was analyzed through data materials displayed in speed and acceleration of longitudinal and transverse movements, the ratio of a silhouette/quadrangular box, and speed/acceleration area ratio of the width and length. The following results were obtained through the comparison of the qualitative and quantitative analyses. First, the analysis of space which was peformed to qualitatively analyze Mujinbeop on the basis of representative Salpuri dance movements found that an uncomfortable body movement directing towards the dorsum was most frequently detected, whereas a body movement pursuing the complete freedom were slightly detected. This leads to the notion that the reason an uncomfortable and painful life has been chosen as a motif in Salpuri dance is because the dance tries to express people who seek a bright, free, and happy life. In the quantitative analysis, the frequency of the body's direction was categorized into four areas using the data of two-dimensional longitudinal and transverse movements among the values of features. According to the results, the body movement in the uncomfortable area displayed the highest frequency. Consequently, the results of qualitative and quantitative analyses showed similar patterns. Second, the results of the analysis on the distribution of Dongjakmaek for the qualitative analysis found that the movement showed the highest distribution. In the quantitative analysis, the results of analyses of ① the speed/ acceleration of transverse movements, ② the speed/ acceleration of longitudinal movements, and ③ the ratio of a silhouette/quadrangular box all showed that the movement was most frequently detected. As a result, the results of qualitative and quantitative analyses displayed similar patterns. Furthermore, the analysis on formal features verified that Salpuri dance seeks freedom through movement orientation and restricted freedom. The following suggestions were made to further develop the study on the qualitative and quantitative analyses and gain more meaningful results. First, the number of Salpuri dance performers should be increased in order to objectify common features extracted from Salpuri dance movements. Second, after setting some Salpuri dance movements, more detailed studies should be carried out. In conclusion, this study tried to present a new methodology on Leemaebang Salpuri dance. It is hoped that further studies will be carried out on the same theme in various ways based on this study, and that this study will become a turning point in the development of research on Leemaebang Salpuri dance.; 본 연구는 이매방 살풀이춤에 내재되어 있는 미적 특성과 형태적 측면인 무진법과 동작맥을 중심으로 정성적인 분석을 하고 한걸음 더 나아가 정량적인 분석을 통해 다시 검증해 봄으로써 연구의 객관성을 높여 새로운 연구의 지평으로 구축하고자 함에 그 목적을 두고 있다. 정성적 분석을 위해서는 대표춤사위 배열을 바탕으로 하여 무진법은 살풀이춤 춤사위의 공간이동에 대한 방향을 8방향으로 설정하고 공간을 통한 몸의 방향 성격의 분포도를 도표화하여 상징적 의미를 분석하였다. 그리고 정?중?동의 분포를 도표화하여 이매방 살풀이춤 춤사위의 표현형태를 분석하였다. 정량적 분석을 위해서는 살풀이춤 전수자 2인과 전수조교(김명자)의 살풀이춤 시연장면 중 가장 객관성이 있다고 볼 수 있는 김명자의 춤사위를 대표춤사위로 설정하여 무진법은 특징량 중 가로 세로의 비율에 나타나는 데이터 자료를 통해 분석하였다. 동작맥은 특징량 중 가로와 세로의 움직임의 속도와 가속도, 실루엣/사각박스 비율과 가로세로의 속도/가속도 면적비율에 나타나는 데이터 자료를 통해 분석하였다. 정성적 분석과 정량적 분석을 비교하여 본 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻을 수 있었다. 첫째, 살풀이춤의 대표춤사위를 기반으로 하여 무진법을 정성적으로 분석하기 위해 공간분석을 해본 결과, 전반적으로 몸의 방향은 배면부인 부자유적 성격이 가장 많이 발생하였다. 반면, 전면부인 자유성을 지향하는 발생 수도 적게나마 나타났다. 즉, 부자유하고 고통스런 삶을 동기로 하여 밝고, 행복하고 자유로움을 지향하는 삶의 모습을 표현한 것으로 분석된다. 정량적 분석에서는 특징량 중 가로세로의 2차원적 움직임의 데이터를 가지고 몸의 방향에 따른 빈도수를 네 부분의 영역으로 나누어 발생한 빈도수의 결과를 해석해 보았는데 부자유영역이 가장 높은 빈도수를 보였다. 결론적으로 정성적 분석 결과와 정량적 분석 결과가 같은 양상을 보였다. 둘째, 정성적 분석을 하기 위해 동작맥의 분포도를 분석한 결과, 動이 가장 높은 분포도를 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 정량적 분석에서는 특징량 중 ① 가로의 움직임 속도/가속도, ② 세로의 움직임 속도/가속도, ③ 실루엣/사각박스 비율과 가로세로 비율 분석 결과 모두 動이 가장 높은 빈도수를 보였다. 결론적으로 정성적 분석 결과와 정량적 분석결과가 같은 양상을 보였다. 아울러 형태적 특성에서 나타난 분석을 통해 이매방 살풀이춤이 동적 지향적임과 부자유성에서 자유성을 지향하는 모습을 검증해 볼 수 있었다. 향후 정성적?정량적인 분석에 관한 연구를 발전시키고 보다 의미있는 결과를 얻기 위해서는 시연자의 수를 늘려서 춤사위에서 추출된 공통적인 특징량을 보다 객관화 할 필요성이 있으며, 춤사위의 일부를 설정한 더욱 세분화된 연구가 필요할 것으로 사료된다. 본 연구에서는 이매방 살풀이춤에 관한 새로운 방법론을 제시하고자 하였는데 이를 바탕으로 하여 보다 다양한 후속연구가 이루어지길 바라며 아울러 본 연구가 이매방 살풀이춤에 관한 연구발전에 하나의 새로운 전기(轉機)가 되길 바란다.
