교육환경 및 시대 변화에 따른 초등학교 SI에 관한 연구

Abstract

21세기는 세계화에 따른 급속한 사회적 변화를 겪으며 사회를 구성하는 전분야에서 시대 변화에 따른 적응과 시대를 주도할 수 있는 이미지 형성을 위해 많은 노력과 함께 성장하고 있다. 이러한 변화속에서 기업은 환경변화에 대응하기 위해 정보가치를 창조하고, 사회적인 존재 의의를 확립하기 위해 총체적인 문화전략으로서 CI를 개선, 발전시켜나가게 되었고, 이러한 기업의 변화로부터 시작된 CI는 정체성의 확립을 통한 환경에 대한 대응 전략으로 도시, 국가 등으로 확대되었다. 지방자치시대가 시작되면서 각 지방정부들은 자기 도시만의 정체성 확립을 소구하였고, 이를 통해 도시경쟁력 육성을 도모하고 있다. 국가 또한 21세기 무한경쟁시대를 맞아 국가경쟁력 육성에 역량을 집중하고 있다. 이러한 사회 전반에서의 변화에서 초등학교도 초등학교로서 가질 수 있는 이미지에 대해서 차별화를 통한 정체성을 확립해 나가야 할 것이다. 구체적인 의미로는 미디어의 발달을 통한 정보화 시대에서 우리가 접하는 시각언어 중 심볼마크의 의미가 다른 커뮤니케이션 요소보다 영향력이 크며 커뮤니케이션 수단에서 가장 중요한 위치를 갖고 있다는 것을 알고 있다. 이런 의미에서 심볼마크는 보다 철저한 계획과 연구를 통해 제작되어져야 함에도 불구하고 초등학교의 심볼마크는 단순히 초등학교 상징물 중의 하나로 인식되어져 다른 커뮤니케이션 수단보다 강력한 의미전달력을 갖고 있는 심볼마크의 기능적 특징이 고려되어 있지 않은 실정이다. 초등학교는 초등학생의 학습, 사고, 친교 등의 다양한 경험이 이루어지는 하나의 문화적 공간이며, 도시를 구성하는 중요 요소로서 지역 공동의 휴식처라는 기능을 가지는 공간이기도 하다. 이는 초등학교의 이미지가 초등학교만이 아닌 지역을 대표할 수 있는 이미지로 확대 발전할 수 있다는 의미이며, 초등학교의 이미지를 결정하는데 있어 중요 요소 증의 하나인 심볼마크의 디자인은 매우 중요하다는 것을 뜻한다. 본 논문은 시대변화에 따른 심볼마크의 변화와 교육환경의 변화에 대응할 수 있는 초등학교의 SI에 있어서 심볼마크의 이론적 배경과 서울시 초등학교의 심볼마크의 분석을 통해 개선방안을 찾음으로써 체계적이고 효율적인 디자인적 가치를 마련하여 초등학교 SI 제작에 도움이 되고자 한다.; In the 21st century, there are rapid social changes due to globalization, and in all the areas composing a society, there are growths through immense efforts to form images which can foster adaptability to the changes and take the initiative of the times. The business created information values to adapt to the environmental changes, improved and developed CI as comprehensive cultural strategies to establish their meanings of social existence, and the CI emerged with such changes within the business to extend to cities and states as a response strategy to the environment through establishment of identities. As the era of local autonomy begins, each local government achieved its own identity through which the urban competitiveness would be promoted. Faced with the infinite competition in the 21st century, states are also bringing all their capabilities to foster national competitiveness. Faced with such varieties of the society in general, elementary schools shall be able to establish their own identities through differentiation of their images. In concrete terms, we know that the meaning of symbol marks, among all other visual languages we encounter in the era of informatization fostered by development of media, has a greater influence than any other communication elements and marks the most important status among all other communication elements. In this sense, despite the necessity that symbol marks shall be produced through more thorough plans and research, the symbol marks of elementary schools are recognized only as one of symbols of the schools, and the functional characteristics uniquely held by symbol marks which have stronger capabilities of message delivery than any other communication means are not taken into due consideration. An elementary school is one of cultural spaces where diverse experiences such as learning, contemplation, friendly relations, etc. take place, an important element composing a city, and a space with a function of providing resting place for the common of the local community. This means that the image of elementary schools can extend and develop into a representative image of the region itself, not only of the elementary school, and that the design of symbol marks as one of important elements to decide the image of elementary school becomes vital. For SI of elementary schools adaptable to changes of symbol marks in the changes of times and educational environments, the study aims to provide a help in terms of production of SI of elementary schools with systemic and effective design values by finding point of improvement through exploration of theoretical background of symbol marks and analysis of symbol marks of elementary schools in Seoul.
