전통 미술 이해를 위한 시각매체 활용 중학교 수업 지도 방안연구

Abstract

현재 우리 사회는 기계화, 산업화를 지나 급속도로 발전을 이루었고 서양문물의 맹목적인 받아들임으로 인해 전통문화에 대한 정체성의 확립이 필요한 시대이다. 이 시대에 살아 나갈 새로운 가치를 창출해 내기 위해서는 우리 문화에 대한 이해가 그 바탕이 되어야 한다. 하지만 전통 미술에 대한 관심도가 낮으며, 중요성에 대한 이해도 낮으므로 도외시되는 실정으로 전통 미술에 대한 진흥과 흥미 있는 수업 방향이 필요하다. 다양한 문화 속에서 오늘날 우리 청소년들이 전통 문화를 기반으로 스스로의 정체성을 확립하고 문화적 독자성을 바르게 인식하는 것 역시 매우 중요하다 하겠다. 그러기 위해서는 미술 교과서에서 전통미술의 비중을 늘리고 전통 미술을 다양하게 적용할 수 있는 프로그램이 많이 개발되어야 한다. 학생들의 눈높이에 맞는 의미 있는 수업으로 다가가기 위해서는 전통 미술을 현대적으로 재해석한 학습활동들이 다양하게 연구되어져야 한다. 따라서 본 연구는 미술 교육에서도 전통 미술 이해를 위하여 시각매체를 활용한 중학교 3학년 수업 지도 방안을 연구하고, 이 분야의 제재로 민화를 선정하여 그 방안을 모색하고자 한다. 민화는 동시대의 한국화와 비교해 볼 때 표현 방법이 형식에 구애받지 않고 소재가 매우 다양하며 소재에 나타난 상징성 또한 다양하다. 이와 더불어 그림에서 나타나는 색채도 매우 풍부하여 학생들에게 풍부한 색채감을 길러주기에 적절한 소재이다. 정보통신과 기술의 발달로 매일 많은 이미지를 접하며 소통하는 현대의 청소년들이 주변에서 쉽게 접할 수 있는 시각매체를 이러한 민화 수업에 활용한다면 더욱 흥미 있게 다가갈 수 있을 것이다. 전통미술교육에 있어 다양한 매체와 주변 문화의 환경을 적극 활용하는 것은 미의식에 따른 새로운 해석과 문화의 창조 교육의 방법을 제공할 수 있다. 이를 위해 현재 중학교 3학년 교과서 7종의 전통미술 분야와 민화의 교육 현황에 대해 연구, 분석하여 기피되었던 한국 전통 미술 교육의 문제점을 제기하고, 전통미술의 한 영역인 민화를 활용하여 전통 미술 수업에 있어서 학생들이 더욱 흥미를 느낄 수 있는 수업 방안에 대하여 연구하고자 한다. 기존의 이론 중심의 감상 교육 방식에서 벗어나 학생들의 감상을 통한 적극적인 참여와 표현활동이 이루어질 수 있도록 보다 창의적인 교육 프로그램이 많이 개발되어 수업에 적용된다면 미술교육의 질도 한 차원 높아질 것이다.; Our society has achieved great advancements through recent mechanization and industrialization, and as the society rapidly absorbs western cultures in relation to such advancements, it is needed more than ever to establish the true identity of traditional culture. Understanding the traditional culture of our society is required in order to create new values that will help us survive through this century. However, people have relatively low interest towards traditional art and do not understand the importance it, thus there is a need to develop new learning methods that will elevate the level of interest towards traditional art. In this modern era filled with various cultures, it is very important for teenagers to establish a sense of identity and understand the correct meaning of cultural individuality through the appreciation of traditional culture. In order to do this, there is a need to introduce more topics on traditional art in art textbooks, and create various learning programs that will provide dynamic encounter with traditional art. Various studies must be done on revising learning activities of traditional art into more modern and user friendly methods that are appropriate for students. Thus, this study selected folk paintings among the traditional arts, as a means of incorporating visual media in education of 3rd year middle school students, which will help understanding of traditional art. In comparison to the Korean paintings of same time, the folk paintings involve various subjects and each subject may represent various things, and the method of expressions are not restricted by form. Rich coloration of the paintings also make it a suitable subject for providing strong sense of rich coloration in students. Teenagers who live in this time of advanced form of communication and technology are always subjected to various images, thus incorporating familiar visual media into learning will elevate interest towards folk paintings. incorporating various media and active conjugation of surrounding culture into the education of traditional art may provide new sense of understanding beauty, and new learning method for creation of culture. From the textbook used by 3rd year middle school students, educational status of 7 sections on traditional art and folk paintings were studied and analyzed in order to identify the problem of current education and to provide a new learning method that will elevate the level of interest among students towards traditional art. Creative educational programs that facilitate active participation and expression from students will certainly elevate the level of art education.
