초등학교 특기적성 수업을 통한 효율적인 아쟁지도 연구

Abstract

This study was performed to describe importance of education of Korean traditional string instrument, A-jaeng, and to provide effective teaching plan of A-jaeng dividing education steps to basic, intermediate, and advance for extra classes. The A-jaeng is useful instrument for education of Korean traditional music because of large volume and various applications to traditional children's songs, folk songs and original songs. In this study, I found following results using graded teaching plan in the classes for elementary school third to sixth grade students. First, A-jaeng instrument class induced positive understanding of Korean traditional music. Students became interested in Korean traditional music overcoming the fixed idea of difficulty and tiresomeness of Korean traditional music. Second, every students developed one´s ability playing the Korean classic instrument. Extra classes of Korean traditional instrumental music provide chance for playing the Korean traditional instrument to every students. Although there were variations of individual ability, all experienced accomplishment of Korean traditional music. Third, graded teaching plan produced more effective results. The basic step consisting of 7-week lecture help the student to overcome the fear of Korean traditional musical instrument, A-jaeng. In the intermediate step consisting of 3-week lecture, the students get interest in playing the A-jaeng with individual guidance of teachers. And in advanced step, the students performed freely, escaping from the cramming education and get a sense of achievement. After finishing each steps, the students took the exam to improve the understanding and performance of A-jaeng. Finally, the improvement of teacher's skills for playing the instruments and teaching students was necessary. The active performance of teachers will induce student's interests and result in effective education. Consistent education and plan is needed to teach instrument music. So A-jaeng class should persist during 2 semesters. I expect A-jaeng class comes to stay as extra class for elementary school from this study. In addition, I hope elementary school students have positive recognition and improved understanding of Korean traditional music with expanded education. Futhermore, I expect the fixed idea about Korean traditional music changed to be more favor and Korean traditional music become more popular in Korean students.; 본 논문은 초등학교 특기적성 수업을 통해서 아쟁의 필요성을 강조하고, 학습의 과정을 기초· 심화· 응용으로 나누어 체계적이고 효율적인 수업 지도안을 제시하였다. 아쟁은 음량이 크고 전래동요, 민요, 창작곡 등 다양한 장르의 연주가 가능하기 때문에 국악 학습을 하는데 유용한 악기이다. 초등학교 3-6학년 학생들을 대상으로 각 학기별 아쟁지도 계획과 단계별 수업지도안을 적용한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 아쟁 학습을 통하여 학생들이 국악에 대한 긍정적인 인식의 변화와 심도가 확대되었다. 학생들은 국악이 배우기 어렵고, 지루하다는 생각에서 벗어나 국악에 대한 흥미를 느끼게 되는 계기가 형성되었다. 둘째, 학생들 누구나 국악기 연주가 가능하다는 자신감을 얻을 수 있었으며, 스스로 원하는 국악기를 다루어 볼 수 있는 기회가 마련되었다. 다소 개인별로 연주 기량 면에서 차이가 날 수 있겠지만, 국악기 학습을 경험 할 수 있는 기회를 마련해 줌으로서 국악에 대한 음악적 성취를 경험하게 되었다. 셋째, 아쟁의 단계별 수업지도는 체계적이고 효율적인 수업 효과를 가져왔다. 1학기 8주 7차시에 걸친 기초단계에서 아쟁을 처음 접해 보는 학생들이 국악기를 배우는 것에 대한 어려움과 부담감을 어느 정도 감소시키는 효과를 가져왔다. 2학기 8주 3차시에 걸친 심화단계에서 특기적성 수업에 개인차가 나더라도 흥미와 관심으로 개인차를 최소화시켰다. 3차시에 걸친 응용단계에서 교사의 주입식 수업방식에서 벗어나 학생들이 수업에 직접 참여하고 연주함으로서 학생들에게 성취감과 자신감을 심어주는 효과를 가져왔다. 각 단계별 학습 후에는 평가를 함으로서 학생들이 어느 정도 이해와 습득을 하였는지 확인하였고, 학생들 스스로 자율 학습을 가능하게 하였다. 넷째, 모든 기악수업에서 필요한 것은 지속적인 연계성과 효율적인 지도이다. 아쟁 학습 또한 1학기에 그치지 않고, 2학기에도 계속적으로 진행되고 지도되어야 보다 효과적인 수업이 이루어질 수 있다고 생각된다. 본 연구를 통해서 초등학교 특기적성 교육에 아쟁 학습이 점차적으로 정착되기를 바란다. 또한 초등학생들은 아쟁 학습을 통하여 국악에 대한 올바른 이해와 국악 기악교육의 확대, 더 나아가서는 국악에 대한 애호심을 증진시켜 동기를 심어주고 관심을 북돋을 수 있을 것이며, 긍정적이고 발전적인 인식의 변화가 이루어지길 기대한다.
