크루즈 산업의 동향과 부두의 개발에 관한 연구

Abstract

우리나라에서 크루즈 선을 위한 전용 항은 2000년대부터 건설되었다. 같은 시기 크루즈 부두가 발달하는 동안, 계획 및 구상단계에서 크루즈 시설의 미래예측 수요는 과다하게 평가되었다. 다시 말하면 과다하게 평가된 크루즈 시설의 예측 수요는 추후에 일반적으로 사용될 항만시설과 비교하였을 때 과다한 건설로 연결되었다. 본 연구에서는 세계의 크루즈 시장의 발전과 미래에 실질적으로 요구되는 크루즈 부두를 비교하고 분석하였으며, 잘못된 수요예측의 이유를 연구하였다. 그 결과에 따라 보다 현실적인 미래 수요를 예측할 수 있게 새로운 수요예측의 방향을 제시하였다. 이 같은 방향 제시와 함께 한국에서 부산, 인천, 제주 등 3개 주요 항의 미래 크루즈 시설 필요성을 제안하였으며, 이들 3개항은 국내의 크루즈 산업의 장기 발전계획을 감안할 때 매우 큰 잠재력을 가진 항으로 사료된다. 또한, 본 연구에서 새로운 크루즈 부두를 계획할 때 미래의 크루즈 선의 변화를 감안하여 고가의 크루즈 선박의 보다 안전한 접안방법도 제안하였다.; Exclusive ports for harboring only cruise ships have started to be constructed in Korea since early 2000's. During this early stage of cruise port developments, however, future demand assessments for cruise facilities conducted at the planning and designing steps were over-estimated. In other words, this over-estimation leads to an excessive construction of the port facilities, compared with the regularly used afterward. This study investigated the causes of the erroneous demand assessments by comparing and analyzing the previously reported data for the developing global cruise markets and the actually used after construction. Thereby, a new demand assessment method was developed in this study to predict future demand more realistically. This method was applied to assess the future cruise facility demands in the three major harbors in Korea, i.e. Busan, Incheon, and Jeju harbors. The applications revealed that the three ports have great potentials to grow up as home ports in the long term development plans of domestic cruise industry. In addition, this study suggested that future changes of cruise ship shapes as well as safe landing skills for the expensive cruise ships should be considered for the planning a new cruise port.
