한국 진출 중국 기업의 통제 시스템에 관한 연구

Abstract

중국은 개혁개방이 활발히 진행되면서 '세계의 공장'의 이미지에서 벗어나 적극적으로 해외 진출을 시작하였다. 2001년 WTO 가입을 계기로 정부 차원에서 해외 진출, 특히 해외 직접 투자와 관련된 정책을 끊임없이 지원해왔다. 최근 몇 년 동안 중국 기업들은 그 어느 때 보다 더 활발하게 국제화를 추진하고 있으며 이 과정에서 지리적으로 가깝고 경제적으로 긴밀한 관계에 있는 한국에 투자를 열중하고 있다. 그 중 몇몇 대기업들은 한국에 자회사를 설치하여 적극적인 경영활동을 펼치고 있다. 국제화 초기 단계에 중국 기업의 본사가 해외 자회사에 대한 통제가 어떻게 이루어지는지에 관련된 연구가 아직 매우 미비하다. 이러한 배경에서 본 연구는 한국에 진출한 '하이얼' 과 '에어차이나' 의 사례를 통해 본사가 전략통제, 결과통제, 행동통제, 문화통제 등의 방면에서 어떻게 자회사를 통제하고 있는 지와 그에 관한 원인이 무엇인지를 심층적으로 살펴보고자 한다. 이상의 연구를 바탕으로 중국의 제조업체의 대표기업인 '하이얼'의 자회사는 회사 통제에 관한 대부분의 권한을 위임 받았으나 서비스업체의 대표기업인 '에어차이나'는 본사가 직접적이고 강력하게 통제하는 것을 알 수 있었다. 그 원인은 통제시스템에 영향을 미치는 요인-경쟁전략, 전략적 미션, 현지환경, 그리고 자회사의 역량을 분석함으로써 파악할 수 있었다. 이 연구가 향후 해외 진출 중국 기업들의 통제시스템에 관한 기초가 되었으면 한다.; As the process of reform and opening-up is getting deeper, China is now not only the worldwide producer, but also begins to be an investor of the world. Especially after China joined WTO in 2001, the Chinese government has made a lot of policies to support Chinese firms to invest abroad. Therefore, the Chinese firms have been investing abroad actively than ever before since 2001. As a neighboring country of China and a country that has related relationship with China, Korea is becoming the objective country for Chinese firms to invest. As the beginning stage of globalization, the research related to how the Chinese firms control their subsidiaries is very limited. So this study is to find what the control systems of Chinese firms who invested in Korea are and why do they control their subsidiaries in this way. We focus on the cases of Haier, a manufacture and Air China, the biggest airline company. The control systems are made up of 4 parts: Strategic Control, Behavior Control, Output Control and Cultural Control. We can get the result that Haier Korea is very independent except some aspects that are strictly controlled by the Headquarter. However, the subsidiary of Air China is almost strictly controlled by her headquarter. In order to find the reason, we analyzed through factors which determine the control systems showed by former researchers.
