프로코피에프 (Sergei Prokofiev) 의 PIANO SONATA NO.3 OP.28의 연구 및 분석

Abstract

세르게이 프로코피에프(Sergei Prokofiev, 1891~1953)는 20세기 러시아 음악에 공헌한 작곡가이자 피아니스트이다. 프로코피에프가 활동했던 당시 많은 작곡가들이 러시아를 떠나 보다 자유로운 나라로 영구히 망명생활을 선택할 때에도 그는 다시 조국인 러시아를 선택하여 말년을 보낼만큼 애국자인 음악가였다. 프로코피에프는 자신의 섬세하고 예민한 감수성을 중시하여 단순하고 명확한 리듬구조에서부터 난해한 기교의 작품에 이르기까지 다양한 스타일로 자신의 음악을 표현했다. 그는 특히 타악기적인 연주기법, 야성적인 다이나믹한 표현 등을 첨가하여 피아노 음악을 더욱 독창성 있게 발전시켰다. 낭만주의 음악에서 출발하여 고전적인 전통의 형식적 틀 위에 자신만의 독창적인 요소인 화성이나 리듬, 선율, 음색 등을 사용하여 피아노 음악에 반영함으로써 새로운 어법을 추구하려 했으며 이러한 경향은 신고전주의적인 특징을 잘 표현한 것이라 할 수 있다. 프로코피에프는 100여곡이 넘는 피아노 음악을 남겼는데 그 중 생애 전반에 걸쳐 작곡된 9개의 피아노 소나타는 그의 음악적 특징이 잘 나타나 있다. 프로코피에프의 음악은 고전주의 형식과 조성을 유지하면서 고전적, 혁신적, 토카타적, 서정적, 풍자적, 이 5가지 기본요소가 음악을 지배했는데, 이 모든 요소가 담겨있는 소나타 3번은 초기에 속하는 단악장 소나타로서 열정적이고 격정적인 분위기가 잘 표현되어 가장 많이 사랑받고 연주되고 있는 작품이다. 고전적인 형식을 사용하면서도 불협화음과 강렬한 리듬 등을 사용하여 고전적인 면과 현대적인 면이 잘 조화를 이루고 있어 그의 음악을 이해하는데 좋은 본보기가 되는 작품이라 할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 프로코피에프의 생애와 음악세계를 시기별로 나누어 작품과 곡의 특징을 알아보았고 프로코피에프 자신이 자서전에 언급한 음악기법적 특징을 9개의 소나타를 예로 들어 살펴보았다. 마지막으로, 소나타 3번을 제시부, 발전부, 재현부로 나누어 형식, 선율 및 리듬, 화성, 연주 방법 등 다양한 측면으로 분석함으로써 프로코피에프의 피아노 음악을 좀 더 구체적으로 이해하고 연주하는데 도움이 되고자 한다.; Sergei Prokofiev (1891~1953) is one of the greatest Russian composer and pianist in the 20th century. In his days, Russian composers were under a lot of political and cultural disturbances. For this reason, Prokofiev had left Russia for a while and later returned to his homeland, where he spent his last days. Prokofiev works demonstrate various musical elements that are precise, straightforward, technically demanding, and esoteric, building a wide spectrum of musical style. He particularly added percussive and dynamic factors to his works and developed innovative and extraordinary piano music styles. Employing his own distinguished harmony, rhythm, melody, tone color and classical elements to Romanticism, Prokofiev was also able to portray new expression in music: Neo-classism. Prokofiev's musical style sums up to five principal factors. Classicism, innovativeness, the toccata-like element, the lyricism and grotesqueness. For about 100 piano works he composed, 9 piano sonatas clearly show the musical characteristics mentioned above. Especially, his third piano sonata is considered to be the most standard model for giving insights into Prokofiev's music, for all five characteristics are evenly distributed. This paper examines the life and works of Prokofiev as well as characteristics of Prokofiev musical style in his nine piano sonatas. Finally, it analyse the form, melody, rhythm, harmony, and piano technique in the third piano sonata. This paper aims to obtain more information about composer's intention to performance of his works.
