R.Schumann의 <Kreisleriana op.16>에 관한 연구

Abstract

본 논문은 본인의 석사 과정 이수를 위한 졸업 연주회의 곡목 중 하나인 슈만(Robert Alexander Schumann : 1810~1856) 의 < Kreisleriana >에 관한 연구이다. 본 연구의 목적은 슈만의 피아노 음악에 나타난 낭만주의 기법과 표제음악을 알아보고 Kreisleriana op.16특징을 연구하여 정확한 연주를 도모하기 위함이다. 19세기 낭만주의 음악은 18세기의 고전주의 음악의 형식으로부터 자유로워졌다. 창작의 표현의 다양성을 지니게 된 낭만주의 음악은 다른 예술 장르인 문학과 접목되게 된다. 이런 문학과의 상호적 연관성을 지닌 낭만주의 대표적 장르인 표제음악(program music)을 탄생시키게 되었고, 이것과 함께 성격적 소품(character piece)이라는 장르가 자리잡아 확립하게 된다. 슈만은 낭만주의 작곡가들 중에서 문학과 음악을 접목시킨 표제음악의 대표적 선구자이다. 그는 낭만주의 문학가 장 파울 리히터(Johann Paul Friedrich Richter) , E.T.A. 호프만(Ernst Theodor Amadeus Hoffman)등의 영향을 받아 자신의 작품에서 성격적 소품을 썼고 그 뿐만 아니라 그는 자신의 내면세계에 있는 가상의 인물인 Florestan과 Eusebius의 성격적인 대조를 그의 음악에서 표현하고자 했다. 이런 요소가 가미된 성격적 소품속에서 그의 음악관을 뚜렷하게 나타내고 있다. 성격적 소품중 하나인 Kreisleriana 의 특징은 각기 다른 8곡으로 이루어진 모음곡 형식의 환상곡이다. 이 곡 역시 음악과 문학의 연관성이 나타나며, 가상인물의 대조적인 표현을 위해 음악적 형식을 이용하였다. 때로는 형식과 논리조차 무시하며 자유로운 리듬의 사용과 불규칙한 액센트, 급변화된 전조 등을 추구했다. 동형진행과 같은 리듬의 반복을 사용한 것은 바하의 직접적인 영향으로 볼 수 있다. 형식을 주로 이루는 음악이 아니라, 음악적 표현을 위해 형식도 사용한 낭만주의 음악의 대표적인 예로 볼 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 R.Schumann의 피아노 음악에 나타난 표제음악과 낭만적 특징에 관한 내용을 Kreisleriana에 대한 작품개요와 분석, 연주법에 대해 논의 하겠다; This thesis reports the study of Kreisleriana, one of Schumann's piano works, which I played for the piano recital requirement for my master's degree. The purpose of this study is to understand "the trend of Romantic music" and "program music" in Schumann's piano works and figure out the characteristics of Kreisleriana, Op.16 to produce a better performance. Nineteenth century Romantic music emancipated itself from the expression and expansion of musical ideas established in the 18th century classical period. Romantic music, which has various forms to express creativity, is related to other arts. As a result, "program music" and "character pieces" have been used as representative genres of Romantic music. Schumann was the pioneer of the 19th century Romantic composers integrating music with literature. His work was highly influenced by Romantic writers, such as Johann Paul Friedirich Richter and E.T.A. Hoffman, which enabled him to use the form of character pieces. In his work, he tried to sketch the contrastive dispostions of two imaginary characters, Florestan and Eusebius created by Shumann himself. In the character piece with these factors, he clearly displayed his philosophy of music. Kriesleriana, one of the character pieces, is an eight-movement piece for solo piano. It illustrates the fusion of the musical ideas and literature as well as using musical forms to express the contrast of imaginary characters. Schumann sometimes used various types of rhythm, irregular accent patterns, sudden modulation, etc. while ignoring forms and logic that were commonly used in the 18th century. It may be said that the use of repetitive rhythm, such as sequence, was a direct influence of Bach. It is a good example of Romantic music that expresses personal feelings within certain musical forms; in other words, these formal structures were no longer the main element in music during that time. On This thesis, i will discuss about "program music" which was revealed through the piano music of R.Schumann and characteristics of Romanticism. And i will study outline, analysis technique of <Kreisleriana>
