지진 매개변수에 따른 지진해일 최대파고 변화 양상

Abstract

지진해일 초기파형의 형상과 초기 에너지는 지진해일 최대파고에 많은 영향을 주며, 지진 매개변수에 의해 결정된다. 일본 서북부 연안에는 지진해일을 발생시킬 가능성이 높은 지진대가 분포되어 있으며, 지진학자들이 이곳에서 발생하는 지진의 매개변수를 예측하기 위해 많은 연구를 하고 있다. 하지만 이러한 지진의 지진 매개변수를 정확히 예측하는 것은 매우 어려운 일이므로 이곳에서 일어나는 지진해일의 거동을 파악하기 위해서는 다양한 경우에 대한 검토가 필요하다. 이때 지진 매개변수와 지진해일 최대파고의 상관관계를 명확히 알 수 있다면 이러한 지진해일을 검토하는데 많은 도움이 될 것이다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 상관관계를 분석하기 위하여 가상의 지진해일을 대상으로 지진 매개변수의 변화에 따른 지진해일 최대파고 변화를 검토하였다. 먼저 가상의 영역에서 수치모의를 수행하여 지진 매개변수와 지진해일 최대파고와의 관계를 분석하였으며, 이를 실제 동해안지형에 적용해 보았다. 본 연구의 결과는 앞으로 지진해일을 공부하는 석학들에게 좋은 참고자료로 사용될 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.; The initial free surface profile and the initial energy of a tsunami are closely related to the wave heights of a tsunami and can be determined by using the earthquake parameters. Along the Western coast of Japan, the possibility of a tsunami triggering by undersea earthquakes is very high. Many seismologists have attempted to predict the parameters of the earthquakes that could occur in these regions, but it is difficult to accurately predict them. As such, several case studies have been conducted involving behaviors of an unexpected tsunami that occurred in this region. If a relationship between the earthquake parameters and the wave heights of a tsunami is found, it would be easier to examine the effects of the tsunami. In this study, several virtual tsunami events have been simulated, and the wave heights of the tsunami are computed by varying the earthquake parameters to examine the relationship between the earthquake parameters and the tsunami wave heights. Numerical simulations have been conducted in virtual topography, and it was then simulated in a real topography (East Sea). The results of this study are expected to be of use to scientists who are studying tsunamis.
