AMBA AXI 기반의 효율적인 NoC 테스트 제어기 설계

Abstract

지속적인 발전을 거듭하는 반도체 공정과 반도체 디자인 툴은 점점 복잡해지는 SoC의 개발을 가능하게 한다. SoC 내부를 연결하는 방법 또한 복잡해지는 SoC의 성능을 만족시키기 위해 기존의 버스 구조에서 네트워크 구조로 진화해 가고 있다. 이러한 시대의 흐름을 따라서 NoC 기반의 AMBA AXI를 ARM사에서 새롭게 제안하였다. 하지만 기존의 AMBA AHB 개발 플랫폼에서 버스기반의 SoC 코아테스트 방법론이 제시된 것과는 다르게 AMBA AXI 기반의 SoC 개발 플랫폼에서는 테스트 방법론이 제안되어 있지 않고 디자이너에게 맡기고 있다. 본 논문에서는 AMBA AXI 기반의 NoC를 효율적으로 테스트 할 수 있는 테스트 제어기를 제안한다. 테스트 제어기 설계에 필요한 선행기술과 이전에 이루어졌던 연구에 대해 살펴본 다음 본 논문에서 제안하는 테스트 제어기의 구조 및 동작 그리고 테스트 방법론에 대해 자세하게 살펴 볼 것이다. 그리고 실험을 통해 기존의 연구과 테스트 시간을 비교하여 제시한 방식을 효율성을 평가한다.; Recently, modern semiconductor process technologies and design tools enable the design and manufacturing of increasingly complex SoCs. In order to satisfy the performance of complex SoCs, the interface methodology connecting internal IP cores each other is evolving from conventional bus interconnect into network interconnect. ARM has recently introduced the AMBA AXI SoC platform based on NoC, however AMBA AXI Test methodology is not clearly announced yet. In this paper, We introduce an efficient NoC test controller that is based on AMBA AXI. We precisely investigated the current test controller and some previous papers, and develop a new test controller. Test results compared with previous paper to show significant improvement in test time with small area overhead.
