무역대리점의 경쟁력 강화방안에 관한 연구

Abstract

2008년 9월 15일 미국의 서브프라임 모기지 부실로 인하여 미국 투자회사인 리만브라더스사(LeeMan Brothers)의 파산을 초래 하였고, 그 여파로 미국을 비롯한 전 세계가 전대미문의 심각한 금융위기 상황에 직면하게 되었다. 이러한 경제 위기 상황에서 대외무역의존도가 높은 우리나라에서 무역 대리점의 효율적인 수출입 역할을 재조명하고 무역 대리점의 경쟁력 강화방안을 제시 하는데 그 연구의 목적을 두었다. 무역대리점의 경쟁력 강화방안으로는 제도 측면과 운영 측면 그리고 외부환경 측면으로 나누어 고찰하였다. 제도적 측면의 경쟁력 강화방안으로는 첫째, 향후 한국수입업협회와 한국무역협회는 그 기능의 중복성과 효율성 때문에 통합이 요구된다. 둘째, 협회는 무의미한 명목상의 사업보다는 협회회원사들의 경쟁력을 강화시킬 수 있도록 사업을 전개하여야 한다. 셋째, 협회는 협회회원사들이 자율적으로 공정한 거래가 이루어질 수 있도록 유도해야 한다. 넷째, 협회는 인터넷을 이용해서 수출입을 통합적으로 관리할 수 있는 종합적인 무역자동화 시스템의 구축이 요구된다. 운영 측면에서 고찰하면 첫째, 무엇보다도 고객과의 신용 제고이다. 둘째, 고객이 필요로 하는 기술적 지원을 할 수 있도록 무역대리점의 전문화가 요구된다. 셋째, 거대 외국자본의 국내지사에 대응하고 국내에 대규모 해외 사업을 유치하기 위해서는 자본 및 인력 등의 공동화, 협동화가 필요하다. 넷째, 고객이 필요로 하는 양질의 정보를 신속하게 습득하고 관리하기 위해서 정보의 과학화가 요구된다. 다섯째, 대기업의 해외직거래에 능동적으로 대처해야 한다. 여섯째, 인터넷 환경에 발맞추어 인터넷을 이용한 해외 거래처의 다변화가 요구된다. 일곱째, 인터넷을 이용한 무역 업무의 효율화를 통해서 언제 어디서든 고객이 요구하면 바로 대응할 수 있는 온라인체제가 필요하다 하겠다. 다음으로 외부환경 문제점에 따른 개선방향으로서 원자재 값 그리고 환율변동 등으로 인한 손실을 최소화 하는 게 무엇보다도 중요하다 하겠다. 물품수입의 경우 과거처럼 원화절상에 의한 일시적인 가격경쟁에 의존하기 보다는 끊임없는 해외 거래처의 다변화와 신뢰, 신용을 바탕으로 긴밀하고 좋은 관계를 유지하여 지금처럼 원자재 급등의 경우 거래처의 다변화를 통해서 그 해결 방안을 모색하고 국내 외환시장의 불안으로 인한 외환의 이상 폭등의 경우 그 결재시기를 조정하는 등 탄력적인 물품 결재 운용도 좋은 방법이라 하겠다.; LeeMan Brothers was bankrupted by US subprime debacle in September 15, 2008 and all of the world was facing financial turmoil. Under this US financial crisis, Korea economy is deteriorated rapidly because our country has big dependence on importing and exporting in the world. So, this study is aimed at reviewing the role of import and export, and improving of foreign trading agents in Korea. There are three aspects to improve foreign agents in Korea as follows: A. Role of Korea Importers Association Korea Importers Association(KOIMA) should be required a greater role for association members and some administrative and institutional support would be requested as follows: Korea Importers Association(KOIMA) and Korea International Trade Association(KITA) should be merged in the future because of multiple of their works. The association should keep fair trade among the members and give them benefits by continuously providing various useful information about commodities and foreign suppliers. And also it is required to build an advanced trade automation system by using internet. B. Management of foreign trade agents Trade agents should faithfully carry out their duties of import management for which they are deeply interrelated and they could be developed for more contribution to national economy by: 1) Having a high credit and reliability with customers. 2) Studying specialized knowledge to give good technical services to customers. 3) Cooperating works among the members to meet a challenge of foreign company with big capital and good manpower. 4) Building advanced information system to get useful information rapidly and to manage it efficiently. 5) Taking an active interest in a direct business of domestic major companies. 6) Expanding network of overseas suppliers in world-wide market by internet. 7) Increasing efficiency to use automation office combined with internet on line. C. External factors In the first half of 2008, the prices of global commodity such as oil and raw material were very high due to 2008 Beijing Olympic Game but after US financial turmoil in Q3, all financial variables are fluctuating at all-time highs or lows. The won/dollar exchange rate rapidly surged. In this regard, it is important to minimize losses caused by fluctuating both global commodity prices and exchange rate as follows: 1) To overcome the high prices of the raw material, we should diversify import markets and improving our competitiveness. 2) In case unrest of a domestic foreign exchange market, it is one way for a flexible adjustment of due date to deal with the situation by interrelated friendship and high reliability.
