Abstract
Abstract Shahzad khan Department of Civil And Environmental Systems Engineering, Graduate School Of Engineering, Hanyang University The concept of safety culture is relatively new in the construction industry; however, it is gaining popularity due to its ability to embrace all perceptional, psychological, behavioral, and managerial factors. Construction Collision and Falls Accidents on site are very high in numbers which pose a serious threat to this industry. A Real Time Locating System has been assessed in this research study to prevent such ugly incidents. Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) location is the perfect complement to Global Positioning Systems receivers for providing users with location information. WLAN operates in many areas in which GPS receivers cannot establish a lock, such as indoor environments and metropolitan (Obstruction by tall Buildings) areas. There are many references to WLAN location in scientific literature. Most of this research concentrates on signal strength based approaches. The advantage of signal strength approaches is that they are easy to implement. A special focus has been given to height and Indoor (stair case) location. A number of experiments have been performed to assess the behavior of signal strength at these points.
