김홍인 작곡 ‘가야금 합주곡 <회상(回想)>’ 분석

Abstract

In this paper, we analyzed for 'Gayageum Ensemble <reminiscence>' composed by Hong-In Kim. The main goal of this paper is to advance the performance ability and to extend the knowledge of music.

As a result, we come to a conclusion as the following.

The music is composed of five Ritornellos and four episodes: Ritornello Ⅰ- EposodeⅠ- RitornelloⅡ- EposodeⅡ- RitornelloⅢ- EposodeⅢ- RitornelloⅣ- EposodeⅣ- RitornelloⅤ. In Ritornello which is an ensemble, the melody, which is composed five bars, repeats, or continuously changes. And it is the main subject melody in this music. Therefore, this main subject melody presents the subject and the answer. The subjects and the answers of five Ritornellos evenly are distributed, and are played in the gayageum ensemble (tutti) Ⅰ,Ⅱ, and Ⅲ. Also, these parts shows the tonality contrast with the change of major and minor tonality.

Four episodes are mainly played by the gayageum solo, but, they are partially played by the gayageum tutty. Also, these parts have several features, such as the rhythm progressing according to the detailed short sound, the repetition of same rhythms, and the emulated progressing according to each gayageum solo part. Each episode is played by part 2 or part 3, and we can know that the rhythms are exchanged between each part by vertical rhytms.

The parts of episodes are composed of A(Section 2, EpisodeⅠ), B(Section 4, EpisodeⅡ), A'(Section 6, EpisodeⅢ), and C(Section 8, EpisodeⅣ), in particular, Section 6, EpisodeⅢ, is modified, and is reproduced based on Section 2, EpisodeⅠ.

Like above, the '<reminiscence>' introduces the western music techniques in the baroque period. Also, we can easily understand a subject since the general flow of the music repeats, and is emulated. The '<reminiscence>' is the first music which reports the real sound among the 12 string creating musics. This music presents the various music features with a gayageum, by the kkumimum, the jeonseong, the chuseoung, the toeseong, the kkukneum, and the sanjo in the whole music.; 본 논문은 작곡가 김홍인의 작품 가운데 ‘가야금 합주곡 <회상>’을 연구 대상으로 삼았다. 본 곡의 악곡분석을 살펴봄으로서 연주자의 폭넓은 음악적 식견과 연주에 적용하는 능력을 돕고자 하는데 목적이 있다.

‘가야금 합주곡 <회상>’을 분석한 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다.

전체는 리토르넬로Ⅰ - 에피소드Ⅰ- 리토르넬로Ⅱ- 에피소드Ⅱ - 리토르넬로Ⅲ - 에피소드Ⅲ - 리토르넬로Ⅳ - 에피소드Ⅳ - 리토르넬로Ⅴ의 구성이다.

합주로 연주되는 리토르넬로부에는 다섯 마디로 된 하나의 선율이 조성을 달리하면서 반복되거나 변형반복되어 제시되며 이 선율이 이 곡 전체를 통하여 가장 주요하게 사용되는 <주제선율>이다. 즉, 이 <주제선율>은 리토르넬로 각 부에 따라 주제(Subject)형, 응답(Answer)형으로 나타난다. 그리하여 5개로 분포되는 리토르넬로부는 주제형과 응답형의 주제선율이 합주가야금Ⅰ,Ⅱ,Ⅲ에 골고루 분포되면서 연주되며 단조, 장조의 조성이 자주 바뀌면서 조성대비를 보인다.

4개로 분포되는 에피소드부는 주로 독주가야금들로 연주되나 부분에 따라 합주가야금도 나타나기도 한다. 또한, 세밀한 짧은음 리듬진행과 동일음반복, 독주가야금 각 부에 따른 주고받는 모방진행 등이 특징적으로 나탄난다. 각각의 에피소드부는 2성 또는 3성부로 연주되는데 수직적인 리듬을 모아보면 각 성부간의 리듬을 주고받는 것을 알 수 있다.

에피소드부의 내용은 A(제2단락, 에피소드Ⅰ)-B(제4단락, 에피소드Ⅱ)-A'(제6단락, 에피소드Ⅲ)-C(제8단락, 에피소드Ⅳ)의 형식구조를 가지며 제6단락은(에피소드Ⅲ)은 제2단락(에피소드Ⅰ)이 변형되어 재현되었다.

이상과 같이 <회상>은 바로크 시대의 서양음악 기법들을 도입하였으며, 전반적인 곡의 흐름이 반복, 모방되는 구성이기 때문에 주제를 명확하게 파악할 수 있다. 또한 12현 가야금 창작곡 중에서 최초로 실음을 기보하였으며 꾸밈음, 전성, 추성, 퇴성, 꺾는음의 산조적인 주법을 활용하여 가야금이 나타낼 수 있는 음악적인 특징들을 곡 전체에 잘 나타내고 있다.
