|dc.description.abstract||Value engineering(VE) of construction has been rapidly invigorated since necessity of cost reduction based on value improvement of the business purpose was required in that the investment of public infrastructure currently increases and order system becomes various. However, it is a frequent phenomenon that a token VE workshop is just executed without consideration of attributes in each step because the current status of domestic construction VE is to proceed with project activities without acute investigation of a project's unique attribute. With analysing previous documents for the theoretical review, this study will analyse problems on the basis of VE cases analysis and participating engineers' survey and suggest alternatives to solve them. Each of problems and alternative is as follows. First, objectivity about evaluating ideas brought from VE is really critical. Value index(V) is evaluated by quantitative cost index(C) and performance index(P), quantified from a qualitative item, and then evaluation of P is difficult to receive objective reliability in the current method due to inclusive evaluation items and ambiguity of its criteria. To solve this issue, this study suggests a quality model by performances breakdown system(PBS) and PBS Matrix available in all the process. Also, it is proved that this study helps evaluation consistency and reliability improvement as the decision of quality model through this matrix quantifies evaluation criteria and specifies evaluation items. Second, an alternative is necessary for successful VE workshops creating high quality ideas by overcoming time loss from the survey and statistical analysis and discontinuity of each step and using data from the similar businesses in function definition, FAST D, and idea creation. In this study, group decision support system(GDSS) was developed applying the aforementioned performance breakdown system(PBS) matrix. VE work process analysis and data modeling were executed for the system development and correlation between process and data was analysed by CRUD Matrix. This GDSS has proved an effect that ideas of approximately 330% increase when results of before and after this system is implemented in the actual project are analysed.||-|
