Wireless communication technologies have been developing rapidly in order to provide various data services at high data rates. In order to increase the signal strength in low-signal areas, channel-selective repeater systems are used to connect a base station with user terminals. In this thesis, a dual-fed, dual-band patch antenna with enhanced isolation is proposed using mushroom structures for the repeater systems. The stop-band characteristics of the 2D-metamaterial (MTM) coupled transmission line are utilized. The wide stop-band characteristic is achieved via the modified mushroom structures. The isolation between the feeding ports can be improved by selecting a suitable size for the proposed mushroom structures. The proposed antenna has a VSWR below 1.5, a gain above 5.0 dB, and an isolation between two ports less than -40 dB over the WCDMA band from 1.92 GHz to 2.17 GHz and over the Mobile WiMAX band from 3.4 GHz-3.6 GHz.-
