dc.description.abstract | Vacuum bubble nucleation is related to the concept of Wheeler's spacetime foam structure in the very early universe. Nowadays, this topic is involved with the string theory landscape. In this work, we have studied degenerate vacuum-to-vacuum tunneling transition in the Einstein theory. From an analysis of (oscillating) instanton solutions, we propose a new formation mechanism of dynamical geometry which has the $Z_{2}$ symmetric and finite size. Also we have investigated parameter space of solutions. In addition, we have investigated linearized perturbational analysis on the AdS soliton spacetime. Horowitz and Myers conjectured a new positive energy theorem in 1998. If such a conjecture is valid, the AdS soliton spacetime should be stable under small perturbation at least. Our results do not show any indication of instability under our perturbation metric ansatz. | - |
