Virtual human models composed by segments have become necessary to ergonomics for the use of kinematic and dynamic analysis. This paper is aimed at developing Articulated Human Models (AHM) using superquadrics to improve the geometric accuracy of the body shape. We developed the human model composed by superquadric using segmentation and fitting. The segmentation means dividing 3D scan data into 17 segments based on joints to make AHM. During the process of superquadric fitting, we compute the values of the parameters which are representing the superquadrics model of 3D object shape. As a result, we generate the AHM composed of 17 superquadrics and 16 joints using superquadric fitting partly. The AHM using superquadrics can be used as the base model for dynamics and ergonomics applications with better accuracy because it presents the human motion effectively.-
