dc.description.abstract유도 모터(induction motor)는 저렴한 가격과 제작의 용이성 때문에 산업 전반에서 널리 사용되고 있으며, 그 적용 범위가 넓어 국내외의 전력 소비량의 상당부분을 차지하는 전기기기이다. 다양한 분야에 적용하기 위해 유도 모터의 운전 특성은 모두 다르지만 이를 규격화 하기 위하여 NEMA(National Electrical Manufacturers Association) 에서는 크게 4가지 설계 기준 안으로 운전 특성을 규격화 하여 적용 분야를 구분하고 있다. 유도 모터의 특성상 이런 운전 특성은 주로 회전자 도체바의 형상 및 크기에 의해 크게 변화하기 때문에 도체바의 형상 변화를 통해 모터의 출력과 효율을 개선시키는 연구들이 많이 이루어졌지만, 기존 연구들은 회전자 도체바 형상을 결정하는 치수들을 이용하므로 최적형상이 기존 형상에 의존적이라는 단점이 있었다. 이러한 단점을 해결하기 위해 고정된 설계 영역에서 초기 설계에 영향을받지 않으며 최적화된 재료의 분포를 찾는 위상최적설계(topology optimization) 방법 중에서도 레벨셋법은 명확한 경계의 표현이 가능하여 작은 형상 변화에도 자속의 분포가 크게 바뀌는 전자기장 문제에 많이 적용되었다. 그러나 유도 모터의 도체바 형상을 설계하기 위해 레벨셋법이 적용된 예는 없으며, 도체바의 작은 형상변화에도 토크, 전류, 효율 등의 값이 크게 바뀌기 때문에 본 논문에서는 선행 연구를 통해 검증된 레벨셋 기반 최적설계 기법을 유도 모터의 회전자 도체바 형상 최적설계에 적용하여 다양한 도체바의 형상을 얻을 수 있는 최적설계를 수행하였다. 다양한 운전 특성을 나타내기 위한 성능 지표는 NEMA Standard를 참조 하여 정격 토크, 기동 토크, 기동 전류, 효율 및 도체바의 재료 사용량을 설정하였으며, 운전 특성에 따라 정격 토크를 최대화 하는 문제에 기동 토크를 설계 제한조건으로 또는 기동 토크를 최대화 하는 문제에 정격 토크를 설계제한조건으로 하고 기동 전류, 효율 그리고 재료 사용량 제한조건을 추가하여 최적설계 문제를 정식화 하였다. 문제 정식화를 바탕으로 최적화 기법의 타당성을 검토하기 위해 유한요소해석과 실험으로 검증된 FLUX 2D 예제 모델을 설계예제로 선정하고 기존 도체바와 동일한 재료양을 사용하여 정격 출력, 효율 그리고 기동 전류는 동일하면서도 기동 토크가 상승된 도체바 형상을 설계할 수 있었다. 또한 이를 바탕으로 운전 특성에 적합한 최적설계 문제 정식화를 통해 다양한 운전 특성을 나타내는 각각의 최적 도체바 형상을 도출하였다. |Induction motors are widely used in various industrial applications due to their simplicity and low cost and have a significant portion of the electric machines in domestic and overseas. Because the operating characteristics of induction motors are various for many applications, NEMA(National Electrical Manufacturers Association) tried to classify the motor characteristics mainly in to four designs and explain their applications. Operating characteristics of induction motor are critically affected by the shape of rotor slot, thus studies on the geometry of rotor slot to improve the power or efficiency have been performed. However, former studies are focused on the size parameters representing the shape of rotor slot and the optimal shape is strongly dependent on the initial design. To overcome this limitation, topology optimization, which finds optimal material distributions within a given design domain subject to certain criteria, particularly the level set method has an advantage that it can represent the clear boundary, especially critical to the electro-magnetic problems. Level set based shape optimization method has not yet applied to the rotor slot design of induction motor. Since the little shape change can affect the torque, current and efficiency, thus in this paper, level set based shape optimization is adopted to find out various operating characteristics. To find out various operating characteristics, rated torque, starting torque, starting current, efficiency referred by NEMA Standard and material usage of rotor slot are selected for performance criteria. Optimization problems are formulated to maximize the rated torque under the starting torque constraint or maximize the starting torque under the rated torque constraint and in addition starting current, efficiency and material usage can be specified as constraints. The FLUX 2D example verified by the finite element analysis and the experiment is selected to validate the proposed method. In the optimal shape design of rotor slot, the starting torque is increased, while rated power, efficiency, starting current and material usage are maintained.
