Abstract
The surface of polypropylene and polymethylpentene membranes was modified by plasma treatment using Ar and NH3, and the permeability and selectivity for the mixture gas (CO2/N2:30/70 vol(%) were measured. The permeation experiments were performed by a variable volume method. The effects of the plasma conditions such as treatment time and electric power of plasma treatment on the transport properties of modified membrane were investigated. The surface of the plasma treated membranes was analyzed by means of FTIR-ATR, ESCA and AFM. It was fairly different from that of the untreated membrane.
