- Abstract
- In this thesis, a new feeding method for exciting small-size USB dongle is proposed. A new feeding structure is designed on a thin line of USB connector to fully cover Bluetooth and Wi-Fi services. The simulation of the proposed antenna has a bandwidth of 160 MHz, from 2376 MHz to 2536 MHz with a voltage standing wave ratio of 2. The designed antenna consists of a feeding line, a capacitor (C), an inductor (L), and a ground plane. The basis for radiating USB dongle is to form a resonating structure on a thin line of USB terminal where current is strong and to use the ground plane of USB dongle as a radiator. The antenna is designed on a FR-4 substrate (ε_r= 4.4, tan δ = 0.02) and occupies an area of 3×5mm^2. A new feeding structure was designed on a thin line which is the USB ground port of a USB dongle, and it does not require additional clearance area for antenna structure.
