어머니의 심리통제 양육행동 측정도구는 Barber(1996)의 PSC-YSR(Psychological Control Scale-Youth Self Report)를 전숙영(2007)이 어머니 보고용으로 수정하고 번안한 도구를 사용하였고, 유아의 귀인양식을 측정하기 위해서 정미영(2009)의 연구에서 사용된 귀인 양식 질문지 The Children's Attributional Style Interview(CASI; Conley, Haines, Hilt, & Metalsky, 2001) 사용하였다. 이 과정에서 사회적으로 위축된 유아의 정서나 행동을 변화시키고 어머니의 부모교육에 도움을 제공하기 위한 구체적이고 기본적인 중재방안을 마련하고 가이드를 제공하는데 도움을 줄 수 있을 것이다 | The purposes of this study were to examine the effects of maternal psychological control on preschoolers' social withdrawal and to find out whether preschoolers' attribution of negative interpersonal and performance events mediate this relationship. The study participants were 157 five-year-old preschoolers from Seoul and Gyeonggi areas and their mothers. The mothers were asked to complete the PSC-YSR (Psychological Control Scale-Youth Self Report; Barber, 1996) and the SCBE-Social Withdrawal Scale (Social Competence and Behavior Evaluation-Social Withdrawal Scale; Lafreniere & Dumas, 1996). The SCBE was originally developed as a child self-report form but, for this study, it was modified for mothers to report their children's behaviors. Preschoolers' attributional styles were measured directly from child participants using the CASI (Children's Attributional Style Inventory; Conley, Haines, Hilt, & Metalsky, 2001). The CASI was developed to measure four different dimensions of attributions (internal/external locus of control, stable/unstable reasons, global/specific reasons, and controllable/uncontrollable reasons); however, this study focused on internal/external locus of control dimension as potential reasons for negative interpersonal and achievement events to happen given preschoolers' limited abilities to differentiate the concepts between stable vs. unstable attribution, between global vs. specific attribution, and controllable vs. uncontrollable attribution. To address the study questions, correlation and multiple regression analyses were conducted. Particularly, to test the mediation model, a series of multiple regression analyses recommended by Baron and Kenny (1986) were conducted. The results showed that preschoolers' internal attribution of negative interpersonal events partially mediated between maternal psychological control and preschoolers' social withdrawal. The similar partial mediation of preschoolers' internal attribution between maternal psychological control and preschoolers' social withdrawal was found in the case of negative performance events. In both cases, high levels of maternal psychological control were related to high levels of preschoolers' internal attribution, and high levels of preschoolers' internal attribution were related to high levels of preschoolers' social withdrawal. As such, the study found that both a direct path and an indirect path via preschoolers' internal attribution are valid in the relationship between maternal psychological control and preschoolers' social withdrawal. This study suggests that maternal psychological control affect the preschoolers' social withdrawal and further suggests that this effects be mediated by preschoolers' internal attribution of negative interpersonal and performance events. Lastly, implications of these results to early detection and intervention of child social withdrawal were discussed.; The purposes of this study were to examine the effects of maternal psychological control on preschoolers' social withdrawal and to find out whether preschoolers' attribution of negative interpersonal and performance events mediate this relationship.
