Abstract
이에 본 연구에서 제조된 코어-쉘 구조의 Fe16N2 자성분말에서 쉘의 두께를 얇게 조절한다면 일반대기 상에서도 안정하고 분해온도도 늦출 수 있는 고특성의 Fe16N2 자성분말을 기대 할 수 있을 것이다.|Currently, rare-earth permanent magnets have become a key component in most of electrical and electronic products. The demand of the magnets has sharply increased, especially due to the popularization of hybrid and electric cars. In the rare-earth permanent magnets, rare earth elements such as Nd, Sm, Dy play a key role in enhancing the coercivity, which determines the performance. After the crisis of rare-earth elements caused by limited and regionally concentrated resources, enormous studies have been focussed on reducing the amount of rare earth elements and developing rare-earth free permanent magnets. Fe16N2 alloy has been considered as one of the candidates for rare-earth free permanent magnets because of a relatively high magnetocrystalline anisotropy constant and the highest saturation magnetization value (240 emu/g). However, it is known to fabricate single-phase Fe16N2 powders that are prone to oxidize and decompose into Fe and Fe4N below 200℃. In this study, Fe16N2 nano-powders surrounded by Fe-Al oxide shells were fabricated and characterized in order to inhibit the oxidation in ambient atmosphere and the decomposition in elevated temperatures. A reduction and subsequent nitriding process of iron oxide nano-powders was adopted to fabricate the Fe16N2 nano-powders. Al was also added to the iron oxide powders to form the Fe-Al oxide shell. As a result, core-shell structured Fe16N2 nanopowders were successfully fabricated. The saturation magnetization coercivity of fabricated powders showed 153 emu/g and 1472 Oe, respectively. TEM analysis clearly showed the formation of Fe-Al oxide shells. These results indicate that the stability and the decomposition temperature of Fe16N2 nano-powders should be enhanced.; Currently, rare-earth permanent magnets have become a key component in most of electrical and electronic products.
