중국 여성의 한국 드라마 수용에 관한 연구

Abstract

한국 드라마는 해외 대중문화를 접목시킨 제품을 상업화시킴으로써 현재 중국에서 또 하나의 붐을 일으키고 있다. 이 붐은 중국의 여성 수용자를 중심으로 하여 점차 다양한 수용자 층에서 광범위한 인기를 얻게 되었다. 최근 중국 내에서 확산되고 있는 한류를 비판하는 목소리가 끊임없이 제기되고 있지만 그 열기를 막을 수 없었다. 그렇다면 한국 드라마는 어떻게 중국 시청자들로 하여금 일종의 팬덤 문화를 형성하게 하였을까? 결과적으로 시청자로 하여금 아름다운 미래에 대한 동경과 행복한 삶을 상상하고 사유하는 능력을 불러일으킨 것이 가장 중요한 원인 중 하나이다. 이 연구는 중국의 여성 시청자들이 어떻게 한국 드라마를 수용하고 이해하며 전유하는지를 분석하고자 하였다. 또한 본 연구는 중국의 여성 시청자들이 한국 드라마에 대해 갖고 있는 인식의 유형과 정도에 대한 이해 뿐 아니라 욕망과 실천의 단초를 탐문하는 것에 초점을 두고 분석을 진행하였다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 최근 중국 내 한류 현상을 일으킨 대표적인 한국 드라마를 중심으로 한류가 활성화된 원인을 분석하고 중국의 여성 시청자를 대상으로 심층인터뷰 기법을 통해 연구를 진행하였다. 이 연구는 중국 여성 시청자 15명을 연구대상으로 선정하였으며, 그들이 어떻게 한국 드라마를 수용하고 있는지를 분석하였다. 그리고 분석의 결과를 크게 네 가지로 나누어 정리하였다. 첫째, 한국 드라마는 중국 여성시청자들의 오락 욕구를 만족시키고 있었다. 한국 드라마와 다르게 중국 드라마의 거칠고 완성도가 떨어지는 제작은 오히려 중국 여성시청자들의 수요를 만족시키지 못해 왔다. 또한 한국 드라마는 중국의 여성시청자들로 하여금 줄거리가 간단하고 이해하기 쉽기 때문에, 깊은 사고를 할 필요가 없어 긴장을 푸는 오락의 대상으로 여겨지고 있다. 둘째, 한국 드라마는 수용할 수 있는 시청자의 폭이 넓다. 한국 드라마는 논리성이 약하고 줄거리가 이해하기 쉬워 각 연령층과 문화에 대한 깊은 이해가 없이도 여성 시청자들이 받아들일 수 있는 보편성을 지니고 있다. 셋째, 한국 드라마는 중국의 여성시청자들의 환상을 만족시키고 있다. 마지막으로 한국 드라마의 상상적 요소를 가미한 스토리는 중국의 여성시청자들로 하여금 현실 생활에 대한 불만을 극복하게 해 주었고, 스토리가 만들어낸 환상 속에서 그들이 새로운 삶과 정체성을 꿈꿀 수 있게 해 주었다. 이 연구는 다음의 세 가지 한계점들을 갖고 있다. 첫째, 한국에 거주 중이거나 중국에 거주 중인 중국 여성시청자를 연구대상으로 나누어 인터뷰를 진행하였지만 두 집단 간의 차이점은 비교하지 못했다. 둘째, 본 논문은 모든 장르의 한국 드라마를 살펴보지 못하였으며, 이들 중 대표적인 장르인 가족드라마, 로맨스 드라마, 트렌디 드라마를 중심으로 분석하였다. 셋째, 본 논문은 20에서 40대의 여성을 대상으로 진행하였으며 중국 남성시청자는 인터뷰 하지 못해 젠더적 측면에서 수용의 제한적 양상을 보여주고 있다.|Korean dramas become popular again by commercializing as well as harmonizing with foreign culture. This trend becomes popular among wide range of users, especially among the Chinese female. Recently, some people are continuously criticizing the expanding Korean wave in China, but the trend cannot be stopped. How can the Korean dramas trigger a kind of fandom culture in the Chinese audience? It also leads the audience to good yearning for a bright future and happy life. This study analyzed how the Chinese female audience accept and understand the Korean dramas. Moreover, this study conducted analysis by focusing not only on the type of perception and the degree of understanding but also on the desire and practice. In this study, accordingly the reasons for the formation of Korean wave were analyzed with the typical Korean dramas which are leading the Korean trend, and deep interviews were conducted among the Chinese female audience as study objects. 15 Chinese female viewers were selected as research subjects in this study. The dramas they favored were analyzed, and the analysis results can be divided into four aspects. First of all, Korean dramas satisfied the entertainment demands of the Chinese female viewers. Unlike the Korean dramas, Chinese dramas which are rough and not well-made, they could not satisfy the demands of the Chinese female viewers. On the contrary, Korean dramas have simple plots that are easy to understand for them, so they are seen as the entertainment that can be helpful to relieve stress without any complex comprehension. Secondly, the range of views who favor Korean dramas is wide. This is because Korean dramas have simple logic, and the plots are not hard to understand, therefore, they can be accepted by the female viewers without deep understanding of the culture discrepancy and the age difference. Thirdly, Korean dramas satisfy the imagination of the Chinese female viewers. Finally, the stories of the Korean dramas with imaginary elements can help the Chinese female audience to overcome the complaint from the real life. Falling into the imagination made in the stories, they can dream a view of a new life and identity. This study has three limitations. Firstly, interviews were conducted by dividing the research subjects into the Chinese female viewers who are living in Korea and China, respectively; but the differences of these two groups were compared. Secondly, in this study, the genres of the Korean dramas weren’t observed completely. Among them, typical genres like family dramas, romance dramas, trendy dramas were mainly analyzed. Thirdly, this study took the female aging 20~40 as subjects, and the Chinese male viewers were not included in the interviews, so there can be some limitation in the gender aspect.; Korean dramas become popular again by commercializing as well as harmonizing with foreign culture.
