The Healthcare Industry in the developed countries is improving constantly due to the continuous research based on the traditional markets. However, in developing countries like Guatemala, that face a wide variety of challenges, the traditional set is not effective. In Guatemala, activities to stimulate idea-sharing and entrepreneurship are being done, but with limited outcomes. Guatemala has one of the lowest GDP per capita in Latin America, high corruption rates, high urban-gang violence, a fragmented healthcare system with limited financial sources that does not cover the entire population, and one of the lowest ratios of physicians per habitant in the region. Nevertheless, in recent studies, the happiness perception of Guatemalans ranks among the highest in the world: they have a strong business acumen and high confidence in working in self-employed activities. The aim of this study is to highlight the importance of designing a strategy to engage people in order to innovate the healthcare sector through the implementation of Human-Centered Design in Guatemala. This strategy may provide Human-Centered Design training to individuals from different fields of knowledge and skills. The intention is to plant the seed of a new and efficient way to deliver outcomes and advice, develop standard-performance-affordable design of products and services to match with the complexity of the system where Guatemala’s healthcare is immersed. !-
