dc.description.abstractThe thermal equivalent circuit (TEC) was presented as an effective thermal analysis method for a wound rotor synchronous motor (WRSM) with a water cooling jacket. The TEC for the WRSM with a water cooling jacket was proposed and the effectiveness of the TEC analysis was verified in comparison to the results of experiments and the numerical analysis. The steady-state temperature obtained from TEC was well matched with those of experiments and numerical analysis within 4%. The transient temperature variation of each part of WRSM estimated by TEC was in good agreement with experimental results within 6%. Therefore, TEC analysis is effective method to estimate the temperature information of WRSM.-
