Abstract
As a blogosphere has emerged as new communication and publication media on the Internet, the social and economic interest in the blogosphere have also increased. The blogosphere has its own unique characteristics compared to the Web and other online social networks because of various facilities provided by blog service providers. Therefore, if existing analyzing techniques and applications are just applied to the blogosphere without any modifications, the expected results could be appeared. Thus, the in-depth analyses on the blogosphere are required. In this dissertation, first, the topological characteristics of the Korean blogosphere is analyzed. For the analyses, a Korean blog network in which blogs are represented as nodes and scraps & trackbacks are represented as edges. By using the blog network, the topological characteristics of the Korean blog network are analyzed, and the differences between the Korean blog network and the Web network are revealed. Also, through the Bow-tie structure proposed for analyzing the macroscopic structure of the Web network, it is revealed that the Bow-tie structure of the Korean blog network is different from the Web network. In addition, the impact of the removal of important bloggers from the blog network is analyzed. Second, the changes of the Korean blogosphere over time are analyzed. The entire dataset is splitted into several time periods. Based on the splitted datasets, the changes of topological characteristics of the blog network such as the connectivity and the Bow-tie structure are analyzed. Also, the tendencies of posting and scarpping are analyzed. In addition, the influences of bloggers’ in-/out-degree, the number of posts, and the nubmer of scraps on the behaviors of bloggers are analyzed. Lastly, the information diffusion without explicit relationships are analyzed. The causes of information diffusion in the blogosphere are analyzed. Also, the impact of a functionality that expose high quality posts on the blog main page, the BlogCast, on the information diffusion is analyzed. In addition, the influences of the BlogCast on the bloggers who wrote the post exposed on the blog main page are analyzed. At last, the sustainability of the BlogCast is examined.| 블로그 공간이 새로운 정보 파급의 매체로 떠오름에 따라, 블로그 공간에 대한 사회적, 경제적 관심이 증대되고 있다. As a blogosphere has emerged as new communication and publication media on the Internet, the social and economic interest in the blogosphere have also increased.
