Abstract
국문요지 과학의 발달과 흐름으로 인하여 21세기 모든 예술 장르는 융합이 되어 홀로 존재하는 예술은 거의 없다고 볼 수 있다. 20세기 후반에 접어들며 과학기술발전, 정보통신기술의 발전으로 아날로그 시대에서 디지털 시대로 발전하여 기존의 방송, 신문 등 아날로그 미디어가 디지털TV, 디지털카메라, 디지털캠코더, DVD와 같이 디지털매체의 보급으로 디지털 화 되었다. 또한 디지털미디어들의 등장으로 생활양식, 소통 등에도 다양한 변화를 일으켜 예술 분야에도 영향을 미치게 되었다. 디지털매체를 이용한 예술인 미디어 아트(Media Art)가 태동되었고, 태생적으로 융·복합 성격을 띤 무용 역시 영상, 비디오카메라, 비디오프로젝터 등 다양한 디지털미디어를 적극 활용하여 댄스시어터, 비주얼 퍼포먼스 등 융합 현상이 나타났다. 이러한 변화에 따라 점차 본격적으로 발전하여 소프트웨어, 움직임 감지 센서, 영상기법의 다양화, 조명의 컴퓨터화 등을 통해 새로운 국면을 창출하게 되어 발전해 나가고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 디지털매체에 기반 무용작품의 효과에 대한 연구를 토대로 시각 예술을 대표하는 무용의 발전 방향을 모색해 나가는 것에 중점을 둔다. 무용공연의 확장을 위한 디지털매체의 도입, 이에 따른 신체양상 변화 및 무용공연 변화를 분석함으로써 결국 디지털미디어와의 결합이 상호교류적인 면모, 표현 영역의 확대, 신체 움직임의 확장 등 광범위하게 그 효과의 영역을 넓혀나갈 수 있음을 분석하였다. 이에 따라 디지털매체와 무용의 상호작용을 장려하는 트로이카랜치 무용단의 작품 ‘16[R]evolutions’를 토대로 미디댄서, 이사도라, 아이즈웹의 디지털미디어 활용효과와 이에 따른 표현효과를 다루고 있다. 그 결과 무용작품에 내재된 디지털매체를 통해 신체만을 이용한 움직임 한계를 벗어날 수 있음과 신체의 확장, 과장, 입체감 등 작품 내 신체변화 효과를 확인할 수 있었다. 작품 분석을 통해 디지털매체는 단순히 과학 기술이 아닌 새로운 표현 및 창작을 위한 도구로, 무용이 지닌 감각을 지각할 수 있는 수단이자 종합예술의 영역 창출을 위한 상호작용 매체임을 인식하였다. 따라서 디지털매체 활용을 통하여 무용작품의 과거 틀에서 탈피함으로써 테크놀로지와의 상호교류적 면모를 지닌 예술로서 신체의 확장 효과, 움직임 변화, 표현영역의 확대, 관객과의 소통 변화 등 폭넓은 효과와 범위를 촉진시키는데 도움을 줄 수 있을 것이다. 또한 이러한 작업들은 총체적 예술인 무용에 더욱 이바지 할 것이다.| There are almost no arts existing alone as all genres fuse together in 21st century due to the scientific development and stream. Thanks to the development of science and technology, the analog era has developed into the digital era entering upon the late 20th century so that previous analog media, such as broadcasting and newspapers, has become digital due to the spread of digital media, such as digital TV, digital cameras, digital camcorders, and DVD. The advent of such digital media has also affected the field of art by starting various changes in lifestyle and communication. Media Art, the art that utilizes digital media, dawned, and the dance that natively comes with the character of convergence has shown a fusion phenomenon such as dance theater and visual performance by actively utilizing a variety of digital media including video, video camera and projector. The media art has developed to a new phase in earnest due to such changes through software, moving sensor, diversification of image technique, and computerization of lighting. Therefore, this study focuses on a developmental direction of dance that represents visual arts based on the study of effects of a digital-media-based dance performance. This study analyzes that the fusion with media art can ultimately expand its areas of the effects, such as the aspect of mutual interchange, expansion of expression area and extension of physical movement, by analyzing an adoption of digital media for expansion of dance performance, change of physical condition and dance performance. Therefore, this study covers the effect of utilizing digital media of MidiDancer, Isadora and EyesWeb and its effect of expression based on 「16[R]evolutions」the work of the Troika Ranch Dance Company that encourages the interaction between digital media and dance. As a result, the study confirms the body transformation, such as physical extension, exaggeration and cubic effect, and the possibility of exceeding the limit of physical movement using body only through the digital media embedded in the work. By analyzing the works, the study recognizes that the digital media is not only a scientific technology simply, but also a tool for new expression and creation; therefore, the digital media is a measure to perceive the senses that dance contains and also a medium of interaction for creation of new area in composite arts. Thus, utilization of digital media can help catalyzing the extensive range and effect such as physical extension and movement, expansion of expression realm and change of communication with audience as an art containing the aspect of mutual interchange with technology by emerging from formality of previous dance works.
