공간장식을 위한 플랫팩 조명등 연구

Abstract

This study studies on the concept, function, and role of lighting, and identifies the use of lighting in modern interiors by categorizing the type of lighting fixtures. Also, this study studies on the concept and advantages of flat-pack, which is derived from practical design. The purpose of this study lies on producing flat-pack lighting fixtures for interior design based on the study on materials and assembling methods and the development of formativeness. Lighting, which is used to brighten the darkness, plays a decorative role in forming the image of a space while it helps recognizing the shape and color of objects. Lighting has a long history as a tool of expression for artists because it can express the atmosphere in diverse ways based on the contrast between light and dark. The author has been producing lighting fixtures for decorative purpose. Above all lighting fixtures with practical use, candlestick was chosen for the author’s study on the development of formativeness for it centers people’s attention on the table and does not have a fixed style in structure. After the study on candlestick was organized to a certain degree, the author sought for an item that can constantly direct space more effectively. Accordingly, pendant lighting was chosen as the following study subject for it decorates the whole space as it brightens the dark interior by connecting it to wires from the ceiling. Furthermore, this study applies a flat-pack system, where components are made of light materials and consumers complete the product by assembling them, to the lighting fixture. Flat-pack system can save time and costs on retail process. The final sales price can be lowered since it is consumers who give a final touch to the work. It is considered that lighting fixture with a flat-pack system would draw more active supply from makers, which can result in providing fixtures to more customers. | 이 연구는 조명의 일반적인 개념과 기능 및 역할을 조사하고 조명기구의 종류를 분류하여 현대 실내장식에서 조명의 사용에 대해 알아본다. 또한, 실용적 디자인에서 파생된 플랫팩(Flat-pack)의 개념과 이점을 조사한 뒤, 이를 성립하기 위한 재료와 조립 방식 연구 및 조형성 개발을 통해 공간장식을 위한 플랫팩 조명기구를 제작하는 데 연구의 목적을 두었다. 어둠을 밝히는 목적으로 사용되는 조명은 사물의 형태를 구분하고 색을 인식하는 데 도움을 주면서 동시에 공간의 이미지를 만들어주는 장식적 구실을 한다. 이렇게 빛과 어둠의 대비를 통해 다채로운 분위기 연출이 가능한 조명은 예로부터 창작활동을 이어오던 사람들의 표현 수단 중 하나가 되었으며 연구자 역시 공간을 장식하기 위한 목적으로 조명기구의 제작을 이어왔다. 본 논문의 중심이 되는 펜던트 조명의 외형 디자인은 연구자의 사전 연구 결과물인 촛대의 형태에서 비롯되었다. 실생활에서 사용되는 조명기구 중에서 촛대는 식탁의 중앙에 놓여 사람들 시선의 중심이 되고 그 구조에는 정해진 양식이 없기에 연구자의 조형성 개발 목적으로 제작을 이어오던 품목이다. 형태적 체계가 잡힌 뒤에는 더 효과적이고 지속적인 공간 연출을 위해 천장에서 내려오는 전선에 연결하여 실내의 어둠을 밝힘과 동시에 그 공간 전체를 꾸며줄 수 있는 펜던트 조명등을 후속 연구주제로 삼게 되었다. 이와 더불어, 가벼운 재료를 사용하여 만든 구성품을 판매하고 소비자의 직접 조립을 통해 완성하는 플랫팩 시스템을 연구자의 조명기구에 적용하고자 하였다. 이는 작품의 제작 및 보관, 판매 등의 유통과정에서 발생하는 비용과 시간을 절약할 수 있으며 마지막 완성을 소비자가 직접 하기에 작품의 최종 판매가격을 낮출 수 있다. 플랫팩 시스템이 적용된 조명기구는 제작자에게는 이전보다 활발한 공급을 끌어내며 더욱 많은 소비자에게 작품을 제공할 수 있을 것으로 판단한다.; This study studies on the concept, function, and role of lighting, and identifies the use of lighting in modern interiors by categorizing the type of lighting fixtures.
