Abstract
In this study, we fabricated Co-Laminar type monolayer paper based microbial fuel cell. Paper channels were created using photo-lithography with hydrophobic SU8. By improving the paper channel of the previous study, we have changed it so that it can be used for a long time without generating electrical noise even in the monolayer. The microbial used was Shewanella MR-1 and the electrodes were printed by MWCNT using screen printing. Steady, Transient CFD(Computational Fluid Dynamics) is used to reproduce fluid flow in porous media and determine electrode spacing by calculating diffusion regions. Through fuel cell performance measurements, we determined the optimal microbial inoculation location, microbial concentration, and lactate concentration in. Under optimum conditions, we have seen improvements in fuel cell performance and duration by increasing the supply of Anolyte and Catholyte with multi inlets and reducing the internal resistance of the cell by narrowing the electrode spacing with the Convergence Electrode structure.
