한국과 일본 자본가 집단의 CSR 정신과 윤리 비교연구

Abstract

본 논문은 한국과 일본에서 역사적으로 기업의 사회적 책임(Corporate Social Responsibility)이 발현하여 진화해 오는 과정을 비교 분석하였다. 이는 기업의 설립과 발전, 나아가 오늘날 CSR의 실행 주체이기도 한 자본가 집단의 CSR 정신과 윤리가 시대별로 어떠한 변화를 겪었는지 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 자본주의의 역사를 다음과 같이, ⅰ) 전(前) 자본주의, ⅱ) 초기 자본주의, ⅲ) 현대 자본주의로 구분하였고, 각 시기별로 대표되는 자본가 집단과 그들의 CSR 정신과 윤리를 비교 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 한국과 일본에서 각각의 상인계급 사이에 공유되던 CSR의 정신과 윤리를 발견하였다. 한국의 경우 일제 강점기로 CSR 정신과 그 도덕성이 훼손되었으며, 이후 현대 자본주의에 들어와 경제성장을 모토로 한국의 재벌(chaebol)들은 경제적 책임만이 강조되었을 뿐, CSR 정신과 윤리는 정치적 교환의 수단으로 나타났다. 일본의 경우 자이바츠(zaibatsu)해체 이후 등장한 게이레츠(keiretsu)를 필두로 경제성장을 이루었다. 하지만 버블경제 붕괴와 세계화를 통해 일본의 CSR는 미국화가 나타났다. This paper analyzes the evolution of corporate social responsibility in Korea and Japan. In particular, we compare characteristics of the formation of the capitalist group that leads corporate social responsibility by establishing and developing the company, and its change and direction. To this end, we divide the history of capitalism into the following three periods, and analyze the CSR spirit and ethics of representative capitalist groups in each period: ⅰ) pre-capitalism, ⅱ) early capitalism, and ⅲ) modern capitalism. Through this comparison, we have found that the role of social responsibility required by the time period and the adaptation of capitalists to the demands of the new change, beyond the economic class struggle, and the common tradition among the capitalist classes of both Korea and Japan also the ethics of CSR. Its management philosophy and trader spirit has continued. In Korea, the spirit of CSR and its morality were undermined due to the Japanese colonial period. In Japan, the emergence of new capitalists following Japan's demolition of Zaibatsu and Americanization of CSR has appeared.
