사회관계망(SNS)을 통한 과시적 여가 활동의 현상학적 연구- 20대 여성을 중심으로 -

Abstract

본 연구의 목적은 사회관계망(SNS)을 통해 20대 여성의 과시적 표현이 어떻게 드러나고 있는지를 밝히고, 그에 따라 유형화를 시도하는 것이다. 연구 방법으로는 현상학적 연구 방법으로 20대 여학생 연구 참여자들을 대상으로 심층면접을 진행하였으며, 연구 참여자들의 구체적인 진술과 경험을 바탕으로 각각의 경험적 특징을 분석하고자 하였다. SNS의 사용이 여가행동으로서 의미는 무엇이며, 이들의 여가행동에 자기표현과 과시적 표현으로서 어떻게 사용 되고 있는지 분석하였다. 연구의 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, SNS를 여가로서 어떻게 사용하는 지에 대한 사용 패턴을 알 수 있었다. 둘째, 자기표현으로서 SNS를 어떻게 활용하는지 분석하였다. 셋째, 자기표현을 넘어 과시적 표현으로 나타나는 유형을 구분하였으며, 이와 관련하여 과시적 표현의 강화 단계를 밝혀냈다. 마지막으로 SNS에 드러난 과시적 표현 이후의 심리를 분석하였다. 이는 현대 사회에서 직접적인 서로간의 친밀감을 SNS를 통해 과시적 표현으로 나타나는 현상으로 분석되었다. 또한, 과거에는 경제적 활동 및 소비를 통해 과시를 하였다면, 현대에 와서는 SNS상에 과시를 함으로써 동일한 행동이 확장 되었다고 해석된다. 본 연구의 시사점으로는 과시적 여가와 자기표현 방식이 SNS 상에서 어떻게 나타나고 있는지 현상학적으로 분석하고 유형화를 시도하였다는 점에서 의미가 있다. 또한, 본 연구를 통해 20대 여성들의 온라인을 통한 심리적 여가기능을 연구하는데 기초적 자료가 될 것이라 기대된다. The purpose of this study is to analyze the ways of using the conspicuous expression of women in their twenties through social network services (SNS). In-depth interviews were conducted with female students in their twenties as research participants. The results of the study are as follows. First, this study revealed the SNS usage patterns of female students in their twenties as a leisure activity. Second, it examined how SNS was utilized as a way of self-expression. Third, this study also found out how conspicuous self-expression occurs in SNS beyond regular types of self-expression as categorizing these two distinct consumption types and revealed the reinforcement process between them. Finally, the psychology after conspicuous self-expressions was analyzed. This study has theoretical implications in the fact that it analyzed and categorized the inner aspect of SNS users applying conspicuous leisure and self-expression theories. It is also meaningful that Veblen's conspicuous leisure is expanded. Therefore, this study is expected to serve as basic data for future research investigating the psychological leisure function of women in their twenties.
