야나체크의 현악4중주 제1번 《크로이처 소나타》에 나타난 5음음계의 활용과 응용

Abstract

야나체크(Leoš Janáček, 1854-1928)의 현악4중주 제1번 《크로이처 소나타》(The Kreutzer Sonata, 1923)는 야나체크 인생의 마지막 8년인 1920년대에 작곡되었다. 이 시기에 작곡된 야나체크의 대부분의 작품들은 조표가 사용되지 않는데 이 작품은 네 개의 악장 모두 조표를 가진다는 점이 특이하다. 야나체크는 그의 현악4중주 제1번에서 온음계적 7음음계에서 음도 1, 2, 3, 5, 6으로 구성된 “장조적 5음음계”와 3과 6에 내림표로 변화한 “단조적 5음음계,” 그리고 장조적 5음음계와 단조적 5음음계의 속성이 모두 나타나는 “장조적/단조적 5음음계”를 사용한다. 즉, 그는 현악4중주 제1번에서 자신만의 독창적인 방법으로 5음음계를 발전시키며, 각 악장의 조표는 이러한 5음음계에 적합하게끔 배치되어 있다. Janáček’s String Quartet No. 1, The Kreutzer Sonata (1923), was composed in the 1920s, the last eight years of his life. It is interesting that most of Janáček’s compositions, written during this period, have no key signatures, but all four movements in this music have them. He used “major pentatonic scales,” consisting of 1, 2, 3, 5, 6 of the diatonic major scale of tonal music, “minor pentatonic scales,” altered with b3 and b6, and “major/minor pentatonic scales,” combined with two scales, in The Kreutzer Sonata. Thus, he developed pentatonic scales in his own unique way, and the key signatures in this piece were arranged to be suitable these systems.
