서정 논의의 동향과 쟁점

Abstract

‘서정’은 여러 겹의 개념적 도전을 받고 있다. 요컨대 그 하나는 ‘서정’의 범주 확장과 관련된 문제이고, 다른 하나는 ‘서사’와 구별되는 ‘서정’만의 시간 개념에 관련되는 문제이고, 마지막 하나는 온갖 탈(脫)주체 담론들과 맞서 어떻게 주체의 자기 실현의 한 원리인 ‘서정’을 옹호할 수 있는가 하는 문제이다. 거기에 최근 ‘미래파’ 담론이 은성하다가 소강상태를 맞는 상황을 치렀고, ‘극서정’을 둘러싼 여러 논의들도 펼쳐져 서정 논의는 그야말로 백가쟁명을 맞은 형국이 되었다.이처럼 최근 우리가 경험한 서정의 원리와 개념에 관한 논의의 흐름들은 참으로 다양하고 중층적으로 이루어져왔다고 할 수 있다. 모두 서정의 원리가 중층적이며 역사적 구성과 해체 그리고 재구성의 과정을 밟는 것임을 알려주는 실례일 것이다. 결국 우리는 최근 서정 논의들을 통해 여러 차원의 비평적 후속 담론이 가능함을 말한 셈이고, 저마다의 체질과 기호에 알맞은 ‘시적인 것’을 구축함으로써 우리 현대시의 풍요로움에 기여하게 될 것이라고 말할 수 있을 것이다. ‘Lyricism’ is facing the multiple layers of conceptual challenge. First one is related to extending the category of ‘lyricism’, second is to time concept of ‘lyricism’ different from ‘narrative’, and third is to the matter of how to depend ‘lyricism’, one of the principles of subject’s self-fulfillment, against all kinds of discourses on desubjectivity. Moreover, once thriving but now the discourse on ‘Miraepa(Futurism)’ has come to a state of lull, and discussions on ‘extreme lyricism’ have also developed that a discourse on lyricism has reached to the state of countless debates.As such, the currents of discussion on the principle and concept of lyricism we recently experienced has been flowing in a truly various and multi-layered way. These are the examples to show us that the principle of lyricism is multi-layered and follows a process of historical construction, deconstruction and reconstruction. Ultimately, recent debates of lyricism guarantee the possibility of various follow-up discussions in criticism, and when we construct ‘the poetic’ appropriate to each one’s constitution and preference, we will be able to contribute to the richness of modern poetry.
