동아시아 문화권 관광객의 기후변화로 인한 한국관광지 위험지각 차이분석: 한국인, 중국인, 일본인 관광객을 중심으로

Abstract

세계화 시대를 맞이하여 지구 문화권이 동질화되는 현상이 나타나고 있다. 특히 보편적 가치에 입각한 문화 특성에 있어서 이러한 경향성은 뚜렷하다. 하지만 이와 동시에 각 문화권에서 나타나는 특수한 삶의 양식은 다른 형태와 내용으로 사람들에게 영향을 주고 있다. 소위 지구촌에서 비교적 유사한 역사, 문화공간으로 분류되는 동아시아문화권의 한국, 중국, 일본의 경우, 동질적인 문화적 특성과 이질적인 문화적 특성이 공존한다. 본 연구의 목적은 지정학적으로 인접한 동아시아문화권에서 생활한 한국, 중국, 일본인들이 최근 세계적으로 중요하게 인식되고 있는 보편적 가치 중 한 범주인 기후변화로 인한 위험지각에 대해서 어떤 차이를 보이는지를 탐색적으로 고찰하는 것이다. 자신의 일상생활 공간과 다른 문화권을 체험하기를 원하는 관광객들이 심리적으로 느끼는 관광지 위험지각의 차이를 알아봄으로써 보편적인 문화와 이질적인 문화 간 관계에 대한 이론적 시사점을 도출하고자 했다. 분석결과, 기후변화로 인한 관광지에서의 각 위험 범주에 대해서 한국, 중국, 일본의 관광객들의 위험에 대한 지각 정도는 차이가 있었다. 이 탐색적인 분석결과를 통해 세계화 시대에 관광분야에서 논의해야 할 문화적 보편성과 특수성에 대한 가치에 대해 다양한 추가적 논의가 가능할 것이다. The expansion of globalization has caused the homogenization of cultures around the world. This distinct trend is especially noticeable regarding cultural aspects of universal values. At the same time, however, the distinct features of individual cultures affect people in different ways. South Korea, China, and Japan contain both homogeneous and heterogeneous cultural characteristics. The purpose of this study is to explore the differences in how Korean, Chinese, and Japanese people who live in East Asia perceive the risks of global climate change. Furthermore, this study examines differences in how tourists who have different cultural backgrounds perceive risks caused by climate change when they experience a different culture, and it also suggests theoretical implications on the relation of universal cultural traits and heterogeneous cultural traits. The results show that there are differences in the perceptions of Korean, Chinese, and Japanese tourists on the risks from climate change in tourist areas. This exploratory study is expected to lead to further discussion on cultural universality and distinctiveness, which deserves further examination from the tourism sector in the age of globalization.
