인간 생존을 위한 과학기술의 대안적 구현 가치에 대한 사회과학이론의 적용: 융합혁명시대의 ‘인간, 과학기술, 문화’ 간 관계 고찰을 중심으로

Abstract

본 연구는 융합문화로 명명되는 4차 산업혁명 시기를 맞이하여 그간 생산성에 기반을 둔 도구적 역할을 담당했던 과학기술의 가치를 넘는 대안적 구현가치에 대해서 사회학이론의 적용을 통해 심층적으로 논의하기 위해서 진행되었다. 최근 들어 도구합리성을 넘어선 가치합리성에 기반을 둔 과학기술의 사회적 필요성이 대두되고 있다. 특히 과학기술은 인간의 실존적 가치라 할 수 있는 생존과 관련하여 다양한 연결망의 확장에 대한 기능을 이행하고 있다. 과학기술은 사회구조와 행위주체의 상호작용적 융합, 인간과 비인간의 관계적 융합, 공공성과 시장성의 가치 융합 현상을 가져와 위험사회에서 인간 생존을 위한 가치의 효용성을 검증받고 있다. 본 연구에서 이루어진 이론적 논의는 일상적 문화에 기반을 둔 생활안전과 탈일상적 환경에서 발생하는 재난관리에 대한 대처 과정에 내재된 융합사회로의 이행과정에서 구현되어야 할 과학기술의 관계적 가치를 이론적으로 제시해 줄 수 있을 것이다. The study explores the realization of an alternative value of technology, which, in the Fourth Industrial Revolution, has played an instrumental role in improving productivity through the application of theories from the social sciences that feature convergence culture. The increasingly important social role that technology is playing is based on a value rationality assessment of technology beyond instrumental rationality. This is especially true for functions of technology in the different networks in which it relates to human survival, to humanity’s existential value. As technology brings about an interactive convergence between social structures and social actors, a relational convergence between human and non-human spheres, and a value convergence between publicness and marketability for human survival has been verified. The theory explored in the study contributes to the academic discussion on the relational value of technology. This value needs to be realized in the process of a developing convergence society (a society observing that the traditional boundaries between culture, technology, science, ecology, etc. is disappearing) seen in concerns for life safety in daily life and the management of disasters.
